About this ebook
This story is about a young woman named Vivi, who recently suffered the unexpected and unexplained death of her mother. A mother, who had been Vivi’s best friend, and who had been her entire family. With her mother’s death, Vivi finds she is now virtually alone in the world. For reasons, unknown to Vivi, she suddenly has this driving urge to begin her life over again by traveling to her mother’s birthplace of Memphis, TN, hoping to find some sort of connection to her mother. However, what Vivi encounters is much more than she could ever have expected in a whirlwind of events takes her on an emotional and spiritual rollercoaster testing everything Vivi had come to know as a certainty in her life. What was, is no longer. What never existed rises to the surface of her life.
In her quest for a new life, Vivi is forced to question her beliefs, her way of life, her ideas, and most of all her heart as her life is turned upside down in three spectacular and sensational days. I am hoping you, the reader, will find yourselves taking this journey alone with Vivi.
You will also find my writing technique is somewhat unorthodox. As I gradually engage you into Vivi’s story in such a way, you the reader, will shortly discover you are no longer just reading Vivi’s story, but have slowly become Vivi’s travel companion as her story unfolds.
The Eyes of the Heart is filled with adventure, family, fantasy, religious beliefs, horror, psychic events, romance, and even humor. It is about Good vs. Evil, losses and gains. Vivi’s story is filled with truth, as well as mystical fantasies and beliefs. My hope is you will be filled with all of the emotions I encountered while writing this story, tears of sorrow and loss, hope, laughter, and tears of joy. I am also hoping the title of the book quickly becomes mean-ingful in the telling of this story. Hopefully, Vivi’s story will reach out to you so you are able to find hope and the strength within yourself to see how wonderful and beautiful life offers us, if we only continue to trust our hearts and in the Powers that Be.
