Tangents: prose and poetry

About this ebook
A collection from over the years, of living in Canada, of prose and poetry. Scattered meanings and all relative to my constantly changing perception of life, love and reality.
Aaron Darch
Aaron Darch was born in the prairies of Saskatchewan, during the first month of 1986. Born unto two geologists, he was bound to live without roots and found his childhood draped across central and eastern Canada. He was first published in 2005, as a part of Acadia University's literary arts magazine. "Early in September" was the piece of poetry selected for this compilation (found in 'Tangents'). He broke away from literary academia to pursue culinary arts - always writing. Today, he works as a Pastry Chef for the restaurant 'Taste', in South Carolina, and still picks up a pen whenever the mood strikes.

NOTE TO READER: In this short anthology of poetry and prose, I have purposely mixed subjects and styles. There is no order to the content. This is to reflect the lack of order in my own perception. It is not due to laziness. Please enjoy, if you may, and share your thoughts with the author:

-The Campfire Head phase-
Whisked within the noble tidal veil
Of a cleansing onslaught,
It dwells; calm and clearly collected
As if connected to something greater.
Giving rhythm to chaos
And tangent melodies to the light;
A beautiful sight that tears
Through the weight of reality.
And the truth is in the sky
As is passes by.
Everything becoming
Rests beneath it.
Nothing to reach
But all of the strength to keep trying
Though by the laws of life –
It will continue dying.
Willed illusions have brought the conclusion
That we cannot recreate.
We demonstrate the capacity
Of our control,
The more we let go.
All of the space in the gaps
