Introduction
Are you aware how much food impacts your wellbeing and your anxieties? Most people don’t recognize the relationship between food and their mental state. But as mind and body can’t be separated, neither can we separate our diet from our moods. Both are strongly connected.
Too many people in our society today have run to their doctor for help from pharmaceuticals to address their anxieties, only to end up with side effects, unnecessary expenses, and no sustainable relief. Little did they know that long lasting freedom from anxiety and devastating mood swings could be as simple as changing their diet!
The other temptation in this fast-paced, stress filled society is to grab for all the wrong foods and beverages. Do you fall into the trap of chugging double espressos after a sleepless night? Do you subsist on junk food because you’re too tired to cook? When you’re feeling challenged by events affecting your health, wealth or relationships, does food become your friend? Or is it your secret enemy?
Have you ever just watched what you put in your mouth and how it impacts your energy, your state of mind and the results you’re experiencing in your life? You might be amazed at how your meals and their ingredients impact how you feel. Doing this exercise for 2 or 3 weeks convinces most people that there is a direct connection between their diet and their experience of life. But do you really want to go any longer feeling the way you do? You can start to change how you feel right now - TODAY!
Ok - so maybe you already know that what you’re putting in your mouth is hurting your well being and increasing the bad feelings leading to anxiety and depression or worse. Maybe you fall into the bucket of people who think that eating a healthy diet requires a lot of work and expense. Maybe you think you have to give up tasty treats in exchange for more energy. Or maybe you’re envisioning yourself searching endlessly for rare spices and supplements at remote health food stores. But these are all-too-common misconceptions.
Healthy foods can be found at every supermarket, and knowing just a few tips about what to eat and how to prepare nutritious meals and snacks may turn you from a junk-food junkie into a health-food junkie!
Small changes can make a big difference if you’re willing to give them a try. This book was designed to remind you of what you may already know about a healthy diet and encourage you to start taking better care
