ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I am indebted to the following people for their help and support.
To my mother, Anna, my rock, thank you for putting up with me while I went through such suffering and recovery and for supporting my passion to help others.
To Greg and Leya Witz, thank you for leading me in the right direction.
To all my clients, friends, and other family members—you all know who you are—thank you for allowing me to share my passion with you all and for being the pieces that have led to a finished puzzle.
To God, for allowing me to be your vessel so that through my suffering, hopefully millions can be helped, healed, and freed, just like you created it to be back in the beginning of time when people knew the reality of whole foods and how it’s your medicine to heal lives.
INTRODUCTION
It’s been a long time coming, so where do I begin?
The thought writing my own book was a dream, but now it’s a distinct reality that has allowed me to pour every ounce of knowledge and passion I have into the minds and souls of millions of people.
I have spent countless hours researching for the most accurate information along with my own methodologies and experience. I have finally been able to bring it all together in this book. There is a way to achieve the results that you are after without draining your pocketbook. There is a way to extend your life span. There is a way to be internally healthy without being brainwashed by commercials and infomercials that try to get you to believe in a system or product that does not and will not work.
So what is this book really about?
This book is written to educate society with the proper information. I have constructed it in a synopsis version that will no doubt impact the quality of your life if the appropriate steps are taken. We don’t need another product! I firmly believe that God’s intention is to produce health and well-being all over the world, and he did. It was the advent of agriculture and a society that is driven by instant gratification that has led us down the wrong path.
What we now have are many diseases and pharmaceutical companies that are reaping the benefits. I firmly believe that we can all achieve maximum health if given the proper tools. The only tools that were ever meant for the human body to use are what Mother Nature gave us—a healthy environment.
Having an environment that is free of toxicity (drugs, misinformation, and bad foods) is extremely vital for our health and well-being. I will try to help you understand that we haven’t been guided in the right direction by the medical industry or the scientists that support this kind of community. We have been brainwashed and saturated by a governmental political system that, in my personal opinion, endorses and needs to keep us at a certain level in life. The reason for this is so we can support and fuel an industry that never existed hundreds of years ago.
ONE
My Story
I am going to take you on a short-versioned journey of my life and my twenty-year-long battle with intestinal inflammatory disease better known in the medical world as Crohn’s disease. The story really began when I had the courage to take matters into my own hands and free myself from the insanity we lean on too often and with too much trust—the health care system.
I was sixteen years of age, and like any normal young teen, I was living a life that most teens live. There was no difference between my friends and myself. We all ate the same foods, played the same games, and lived the way any young adult would live their lives. This is where it all began. The beginning of a life that was tormented with tremendous physical and emotional pain, discomfort, trauma, self-esteem issues, and a series of hospital visits that would eventually have me render myself helpless into the hands of the medical system.
I found myself experiencing excruciating stomach pains—deep, burning sensations in the pit of my stomach that were so powerful it would render me absolutely useless. I was told by my family doctor that I had an ulcer. By the time I reached the age of eighteen, I was diagnosed with two ulcers. Nobody seemed to know why. All they knew was that I had an ulcer, and the first step in the plan of attack was drugs to eradicate the symptoms. The constant discomfort and pain continued for the next few years. It only got worse. I thought I had experienced it all; however, something else was in store for me.
At this point, I was twenty-four years old, chronically sick with pain and diarrhea that lasted for nine months. I was afraid that there was something terminally wrong with me. After enduring nine months of extensive tests, the health care system discovered that I had Crohn’s disease; and this, my friends, is where my life took a major turn for the worse.
I was hospitalized for four days so my inflamed intestines could heal. I was then given a heavy dose of corticosteroid (prednisone), which is an anti-inflammatory drug. I remained on this drug for the next six and a half years as it was the only thing that relieved my pain.
Five years passed when I had a second attack that had me hospitalized for another four days. I was told that I had an obstruction. The procedure for this was to put tubes in through my nose down into my stomach to drain out the undigested food. Four days later, I was out of the hospital, back at work, and still on drugs. It seemed the medication was the only way I could live a normal life.
In the year 2008, my life started to slowly turn around for the better. I decided to say good-bye to the medical profession and find a treatment or a possible cure for myself. I met extraordinary human beings like Dr. Mercola, Paul Chek, and others who, quite literally, gave me another shot at life. They helped me get strong for the next five years without drugs, and I was very proud of myself over the work I had accomplished with their guidance.
In July 2010, I had a relapse. It felt like the worst pain ever in my history of this disease. There was something very positive about it all. I was drug-free for five years, and the hospital visit only lasted eleven hours as opposed to four days. I knew at that point that all the hard work, eating well and changing my lifestyle, had really paid off despite this temporary setback. I kept this vision of truth strong in my mind.
When I released myself (against doctor’s orders), I knew that there still had to be a way that I could have prevented this. I was upset but determined. I set out to find how this could have happened. What was the missing piece of the puzzle? It was at that point that I was introduced to the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle by Elaine Gottschall by one
