About this audiobook
In this follow up to Loving the Little Years, Rachel Jankovic pushes her parenting "field notes" out onto the skinny branches of motherhood. Fit to Burst is chock-full of humorous examples and fresh advice covering issues familiar to every mom such as guilt cycles, temptations to be ungrateful or bitter, and learning how to honor Jesus by giving in the mundane things. But this book also addresses less familiar topics, including the impact that moms have on the relationships between dads and kids, the importance of knowing when to laugh at kid-sized sin, and more.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Rachel has some good Biblical truths she touches on but barely uses any scripture. One of the handful of verses (about 5 in the entire book) is taken out of context. She desperately needs to add scripture into her chapters in order to validate anything she is saying. She talks about different things related to motherhood in each chapter but it seems like its based on her experience with hints of the gospel added into it. She also makes a bold statement about assurance of salvation for children that is scary!
I would not recommend this book for a book study or any type of Bible study group meetings. It would probably be fine as a quick listen or read in one day but not spaced out to chew on the chapters because there isn’t enough content or scripture to do that. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5She takes the time to think well through the daily ups and downs of parenting and holds up a candle of hope and humor to our own hearts in the midst of them. It’s the right kind of conviction and encouragement.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Rachel writes with such wisdom and encouragement to press on towards the goal of doing all (in motherhood) to the glory of God. If you’re a Christian mom, read (or listen!) to this book! It was a worthy companion while I made dinners and ran errands.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read one of her books about once a year. It really helps me to put my life and mothering into the right perspective
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such an invigorating, enjoyable, penetrating, funny and instructive book! The author has mentor and leader material, enough sweat and flesh on her faith to be so powerful and relevant!
