About this audiobook

Harnessing the power of self-control for people who like cake, hate push-ups, and aren't robots

Admittedly, self-control may be the least-coveted fruit of the Spirit. But the truth is that people who are successful at self-control have freer, happier lives, and we all want that. After all, our bad habits-from the slight to the serious-bring with them a host of negative emotions, take up our time, and keep us from being the best version of ourselves.

Sure, self-control is hard, but it doesn't have to be that hard. Your Future Self Will Thank You is a compassionate and humorous guide to reclaiming your willpower based on the Bible and brain science. It shares proven, practical strategies for success, as well as biblical principles that will help you along the way.  Whether you want to lose a few pounds, conquer addiction, or kick your nail-biting habit, this book will help you get motivated, stay motivated, and achieve your goals. Get the help you need to be freer, happier, and more successful. Your future self will thank you!

If you want to talk about religion so much put it on the title as even as a Christian this is way over the top.

Don’t start saying religious people are more self controlled either as we have seen a lot of examples where this isn’t the case and I’ve not seen any research to suggest this

What A Fantastic Book on a topic which many have taken it from an ascetic view. When we see self-control we see "us in action" but we hardly finish the rest of the sentence, "by GOD'S Power."
The call to surrender is a common reminder in this book. Why go on fighting when surrender is the way to begin, just like the AA 1 step of 12 steps plan.

A breath of fresh air to the typical self-help books. Rather than just focusing on our human efforts, it talked about on our brokenness, sin nature, and how God can help us change. I most likely will listen again and take more notes the second time around.
