About this audiobook

Men are just like cats. They don’t do what they’re told and constantly want cuddles.

Kat misses her solitary assassin life. Instead of doing one cold-hearted kill after another, she has to deal with two and a half men all vying for her attention. But with a new crisis emerging, she needs to keep her cool and focus on what really counts.

Kittens are being taken, including Ryker’s son. Is there a killer on the loose or is someone trying to get Kat’s attention?

The second book in this purrfectly exciting urban fantasy series.

Skye MacKinnon

Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose. She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh. When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her bunny diva and cat princess.

I dove right into Scratch as soon as it was available on audio! I liked Scratch more than I liked Meow which sometimes doesn't happen with sequels for me. I definitely will be listening to more of this series as it releases on audiobook ❤️ Great job Skye and Melody Muzljakovich on this collaboration!

    Story:

There is so much to go over, I don't know even where to start. I will keep some things to myself because I don't want to spoil anything for the reader. I loved the revelations Kat had with the men in her life and the new characters who caused her heartburn and stress. Let me be frank, I am not a cat person. They just DONT like me even though I want to love them haha. Doesnt help that I am slightly allergic and love dogs so much haha. Despite that, I loooooved the cat aspect of this series. Kat and her shifter, the kittens, Ryker (the reveal was totally unexpected and he sounds so dreamy!), and all the feline goodness. I loved the part with Lennox and hope that develops more as time goes on. I am super intrigued by Gryphon and loved getting his back story, helped paint a better picture. I am really looking forward to learning more about the evil baddies and what they are gearing up towards. I will say this one had twists that I didnt see coming, not gonna lie. Really refreshing ❤️

    Narrator/Audio:

This was a huge improvement over book 1 for me. I gave Meow 3.5/5 and the narration I would give 4-4.5/5. I thought Melody really fine-tuned this audio more than book 1 and I think there were certain characters that had less airtime in Scratch so maybe that helped. I thought the inflections were way better in this story. I wasn't a huge fan of how she did the newest character in the merry group of misfits, it made her seem younger than what she was described as. That was my only hang-up which like I said, was an amazing improvement. Definitely will be listening to the rest of these books as they are released, need to know what happens next ???

Honestly it’s very repetitive. “I’m Kat, I hate everyone, meh.” This is repeated all through book one and two. Also when they say slow burn they mean slowwwwwwww. Like book two and she’s barely done anything. The narration sucks. The narrator uses too many inflections that just don’t fit. Could’ve been a good story but between poor writing and bad narration it’s just boring. Don’t think I’m going to make it through another book.

For someone with cat DNA she sure doesn’t pay attention to her surroundings, which she should do during trying to save the kittens. I know cats get sidetracked easily, but she’s not a house cat. She’s a Jaguar/Panther. She should be able to sense danger much better.

I like where the story is going, but I’m giving it three stars because the character is so easily thwarted. That doesn’t make sense to me.

This was awesome ?? I’m not sure why the reviews were so negative. As a person who craves inner monologues and internal crisis in my characters. Kat was absolutely perfect. I hope things go this well in the next book because this has me begging for more !!
