About this audiobook

“Somewhere between Tom Perrotta and Erica Jong lies The Swing of Things, a charming, sexy, and surprisingly tender romp through the dark side of wish fulfillment. I’ll never look at the other playground parents the same way again.” —Marcus Sakey

Told from the dual perspective of a husband and a wife, The Swing of Things is a sexy, provocative, page-turning novel about a suburban couple who wants out of their routine—but will they take things too far?

Attorney Jayne Larsen loves her stay-at-home husband. Eric is attentive and a great father to their daughter. He’s also unfailingly committed to their Wednesday date nights—but things have gotten too predictable.

Enter Theo and Mia Winters, the effortlessly cool, attractive couple who are the center of everyone’s attention. They are blissfully happy and ready to share their secret for keeping things spicy. But there are rules. And breaking them has consequences. As Jayne and Eric explore a more modern definition of marriage, they are forced to confront whether they’ve given up too much in the pursuit of trying to have it all.

Note to author***viagra does NOT act as an aphrodisiac. It merely makes an erection possible if a man is already aroused.***As for the story -these things rarely work out the way ppl think they will.
Having said that i enjoyed the book, the writing , the way the story was told. I could have used less explicit descriptions but i knew what i was signing up for, so its just me. The sex scenes are explicit but not that frequent there’s more description on the effect of their behavior on their marriages.
I consider the whole “ its not cheating if we are honest” a cliche because of course it is cheating and inevitably ppl get hurt, including any children involved. That’s my personal feeling not necessarily a spoiler i think most ppl would agree open marriages rarely work.
All in all i enjoyed the book even tho i didn’t actually like any of the characters except Eric who was a decent person before it started.
    Entertaining book would recommend.

I enjoyed it. I liked the narration and the story. I also liked that they didn't overdo the ending. It was sensible and realistic.

Well told story. The sex scenes were described in somewhat too much detail for me. It was difficult for me to keep reading through the swinger parties. I really liked Eric and I had a clue of the villain in the story. The twist and turns were good and I was satisfied with the ending. How was that for not saying too much. I really like this authors writing. I am looking for someone who is similar to Liane Moriarty's writing. This author is close.

Both narrators are horrible. The male narrator sounds way too old, and I just don’t care for either of the narrators’ voices, especially the female trying to do a male voice. DNF due to this, and the book not holding my interest 2/3 of the way through.
