About this audiobook

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken kicks off a brand-new series in which romance is a game and love is a touchdown.

Emerson just made her dream come true as a professional cheerleader for her favorite pro football team. But even though the plus-size athlete is breaking down boundaries, she still has to contend with the massive rulebook. Carbs? Nope. Chocolate? Definitely not. Still, Emerson loves her curves, and she’ll rock the hell out of this job even if it kills her. Except for one mandate that is easier read than done…

No fraternizing with the players.

Problem one is Miller Quinton: Emerson’s first love, first sex, and the guy who still ignites her daydreams and R-rated fantasies. Thrown back together, Miller and Emerson feel the undeniable pull of passion again, even if the conflict that tore them apart seems insurmountable. Then there’s way-too-sexy Grant Sanchez. He has a serious reputation with the ladies, and when it comes to winning someone he wants, he doesn’t let anyone stand in his way.

Now Emerson is breaking every rule in the manual. But what she doesn’t know is that she’s part of a wicked little game—one that could steal both her dream and her heart.

So I had this book in my library and hadn't gotten to it yet, but I have the ARC for Infraction and I didn't want to start that book without reading this one, and I am glad I did..you normally root for the one she had a past with, if they were lost loves, and think the story is going that way, but I chose Grant. As you read the story you can't help but want him, one of my favorite line was " “But I want to be good enough for her. It wasn’t even about sex. I mean at first it was, but now? Now, I just . . . I don’t know, man. I think I’d die a happy man if she’d just hold my hand.”, how can't you not want him,

I liked it but went back and forth on feelings. I liked it a lot when I started reading and knew it was going to be hard because I liked both guys after getting to know Grant a little more. I had mixed feelings on how it played out.

Oh man I love a good love triangle. This one had me in its grip so quick and I couldn’t put it down! All the side characters were great and I loved the story. I can’t wait to see who Mr. I Didn’t Get the Girl ends up with!

The narration was ok, not great and I wasn't sure if I should keep listening at first because the story and characters were not grabbing me initally, but I'm glad I stuck with it as it did get better. The last 2/3rds of the book didn't have a predictable plot and kept me guessing a bit. I was sure I had things figured out towards the first half of the book, but I was wrong. I became more invested the more I listened. Good writing and good listen overall!

This book could have been better but it was definitely entertaining. I did not guess the ending but I liked it. Did not like the woman on woman hating though.
