About this audiobook

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts presents a captivating novel set in the world of television talk shows that reveals the ambitious dreams of a savvy young woman—and the dark obsessions that threaten all she’s worked for.

Deanna Reynolds had it all planned: She’d start out in the newsroom of a small Chicago station, then move up to host her own talk show. When her mentor Angela Perkins leaves for New York, Deanna risks everything for the chance to replace Angela on the air.

The network’s sexiest journalist, Finn Riley, admires Deanna’s daring ambition. But soon they are caught up in the bitter backlash of Angela’s revenge—and they must unmask the hidden betrayals of Deanna’s fiercest rival by taking the biggest risk of all....

Private Scandals was my favorite Nora Roberts book until Julie Finneran ruined it with her horrible narration. I honestly didn't think she was as bad as most of the reviewers said but, as the book progressed, the narration just got worse. She didn't know how to articulate (I don't know if that's the right word) different emotions. Whether the character was scared, happy, or mad they all sounded the same. The narrator pretty much ruined all of the characters which, in turn, ruined the book. Private Scandals is a great book but, it's a horrible audiobook. I wouldn't recommend the audio version at all.

This was a strange story. Deanna was an idiot all of the way though. Whiny. Petulant. Clueless. Finn was over the top Alpha male. Marshall was very strange. The only real characters were Angela ironically and Fran. The killer was kind of a surprise but not so much from the beginning. Glad I got this for free. Don’t waste your money on this.
