About this audiobook
“A rare gut-punch writer, full of grit and insight, who we will be happily reading for years to come.” —Gregg Hurwitz, New York Times bestselling author of the Orphan X series?
In this third high-octane thriller in the “seriously good” (Lee Child, #1 New York Times bestselling author) Terminal List series, former Navy SEAL James Reece must infiltrate the Russian mafia and turn the hunters into the hunted.
Deep in the wilds of Siberia, a woman is on the run, pursued by a man harboring secrets—a man intent on killing her.
A traitorous CIA officer has found refuge with the Russian mafia with designs on ensuring a certain former Navy SEAL sniper is put in the ground.
Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness, slowly putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings. Unbeknownst to them, the Russian mafia has set their sights on Reece in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
As Jack Carr’s most visceral and heart-pounding thriller yet, Savage Son explores the darkest instincts of humanity through the eyes of a man who has seen both the best and the worst of it.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A clearly written, lean, muscular military adventure full of gun-porno, engineering and tool-geek detail aligned with the time-tested, tried and truely American patriotic sentiments of personal honesty, honour & loyalty (to tribe & self).
Fuller and slightly less formalistic than the author’s first novel, The Terminal List, also a fun read.
No deep or profound descriptive or psychological forays out of the emotion colour scheme of blacks & whites to bewilder or confuse us with the meddlesome ambivalency of shades of grey.
A smoother, socially more aware and smarter version of Rambo.
Easy to read, lots of fun. Good escapist entertainment.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The first half of the book was just dull. The second half- the hunt was much better.
I hope in the future he writes less about the high end gun makers, the Black Rifle coffee and all the other promos that are in the story - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5All of the JC books were good, this was best!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good escapist thriller that pulled me in. I've read - well, mostly listened to - all three books and based on the epilogue, I will be on the lookout for the 4th one in a few months.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another excellent read from Jack m, he can definitely keep you into the story. The books don't lull or bore. they're pretty much constant action and intriguing.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not up the level of his first two books. This one tries to build evolve the character as a platform for future books. Unfortunately, what is here is an unoriginal superman almost identical to one from Vince Flynn many years ago. This is is a pale copy which has little interest for me. Too bad. Nice start but seems to me the author ran out of original ideas.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Character build is a little slow but stay with it, it is riveting!!!!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The macho posturing in this book is hilarious, but I’m still enjoying the series. An interesting peek into that strange beast: the conservative mind. Far out, for sure.
