MEET THE AUTHOR

Where did your interest in wildlife and conservation begin? I grew up in Italy, but we regularly visited family in South Africa and what was then Rhodesia. Each time, I carried back home the fascination for African wild places, nurturing a dream of one day becoming involved in wildlife conservation. My mother had a strong passion for animals; my dad for adventure. My uncle and aunt took me to the Zambezi Valley in their 1973 short-wheelbase Land Rover.
