This book has a lot of twists and turns. Enough to maintain your interest. The end was good

The author wrote a protagonist who loves a pity party. Her world is all about her. She has no self awareness especially about her relationship with her son. It got boring fast. Characters seem childish. Not sure if this is because of the narrator or the author. The author decided to make the police inept to further her plot.

I gave it one star due to being broadsided 3/4th the way through when one of the “good guys “ had such bias against law enforcement and bigotry that was so unnecessary, with a certain bias that was so unnecessary to the story and in the end the police end up saving someone.

Regarding the story itself, where do I begin? So many holes in the story. The narrator had a grating voice that pierced the brain. The whole thing was terrible.
