About this audiobook

***Now a Netflix Original movie, starring Leighton Meester, streaming globally.***

Miles from home. Trust no one. Suspect everyone.

Orla and Kate have been best friends forever. Together they’ve faced it all – be it Orla’s struggles as a new mother or Kate’s messy divorce. And whatever else happens in their lives, they can always look forward to their annual weekend away.

This year, they’re off to Lisbon: the perfect flat, the perfect view, the perfect itinerary. And what better way to kick things off in style than with the perfect night out?

But when Orla wakes up the next morning, Kate is gone. Brushed off by the police and with only a fuzzy memory of the night’s events, Orla is her friend’s only hope. As she frantically retraces their steps, Orla makes a series of shattering discoveries that threaten everything she holds dear. Because while Lisbon holds the secret of what happened that night, the truth may lie closer to home…

Very good, lots of twists and turns. I did guess correctly tho got thrown off briefly! I did like the ending, won't give anything away. Don't like to critise the reader, I know it's hard but could have been a bit quicker & would have liked less of a constant upward turn at the end of each sentence, more variation. Also less of a constant cry in the voice but that's just a personal view.

The writing style is quite engaging… before it becomes overly wearing.

Glaring errors such as, being able to erase an iPhone, that has a pin code, without putting the pin code in? And the conveniently misplaced cottage which just happens to turn up at the end.

The plot with the police officer was laughable and quite irritating by the end.

Speaking of the end - where was it?? I had to check my copy to make sure It hadn’t cut a chapter off.

This book had me completely addicted from start to finish (even though the main character's complete lack of nouse had me frustrated at times!). Gripping right up until the pleasingly unsettling ending.
