About this audiobook

From #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dirty Thirty and “most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times), Janet Evanovich’s Two for the Dough is irresistibly fun and powerful suspense entertainment featuring beloved bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

It's the return of Stephanie Plum, New Jersey’s “fugitive apprehension” agent (a.k.a. bounty hunter), introduced to us in the award-winning and bestselling novel One for the Money.

Now Stephanie's back, armed with attitude—not to mention stun guns, defense sprays, killer flashlights, and her trusty .38, Stephanie is after a new bail jumper, Kenny Mancuso, a boy from Trenton’s burg. He’s fresh out of the army, suspiciously wealthy, and he’s just shot his best friend.

With her bounty hunter pal Ranger stepping in occasionally to advise her, Stephanie staggers knee-deep in corpses and caskets as she traipses through back streets, dark alleys, and funeral parlors.

And nobody knows funeral parlors better than Stephanie's irrepressible Grandma Mazur, a lady whose favorite pastime is grabbing a front-row seat at a neighborhood wake. So, Stephanie uses Grandma as a cover to follow leads, but loses control when Grandma warms to the action, packing a cool pistol. Much to the family’s chagrin, Stephanie and Granny may soon have the elusive Kenny in their sights.

Fast-talking, slow-handed vice cop Joe Morelli joins in the case, since the prey happens to be his young cousin. And if the assignment calls for an automobile stakeout for two with the woman who puts his libido in overdrive, Morelli’s not one to object.

Low on expertise but learning fast, high on resilience, and despite the help she gets from friends and relatives, Stephanie eventually must face the danger alone when embalmed body parts begin to arrive on her doorstep and she’s targeted for a nasty death by the most loathsome adversary she's ever encountered. Another case like this and she'll be a real pro.

Stephanie makes me laugh out loud as I'm driving to work. Not a bad way to start the day.

Great book! The 2nd book in the Stephanie Plum series and another winner. Fast pace, great characters and plenty of action made this book an enjoyable, quick read. I liked the addition of her fearless pistol packing Grandma as a sidekick in this one - certainly kept things interesting! I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series and would definitely recommend them!

Laugh Out Loud craziness of Stephanie, Morelli and Grandma. Stephanie is looking for missing caskets and Morelli is looking for what is hidden in them and the psycho who's chopping off body parts and sending them to Stephanie.

Another wonderful Stephanie Plum adventure! This time Lula and Grandma Mazur get in on the action to help solve the mystery - hilarity ensues. Even the romantic bits end up being hopelessly funny. Although it's somewhat predictable and a little anticlimactic when the criminals are finally apprehended, I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end.

Enjoyable characters, enjoyable storyline. I especially like Grandma Mazur ... I can see Sophia from Golden Girls in that part. I really enjoy the fact that Stephanie Plum is a great anti-hero. She just stumbles through it all like real people do.

Stephanie Plum makes me laugh. I love all the characters--Morelli, Grandma Mazur, and I feel a definite kinship with Stephanie's mother. Reading this book was fun!

Another ligh hearted adventure with Stephanie Plum. This books hit its stride much better and ealier than tha last. I guess familiarity with Stephanie's character helped. Granda Mazur gets in on the act too - quite amusing and another easy diverting read.

Another great addition to the Stephanie Plum series, with a growing relationship between Stephanie and Joe, missing body parts from the funeral home. Vehicle accidents and of course Grandma Mazur in the mix makes this another exciting and interesting 2nd book to the series.

I'm reading along in this funny, if not terribly clever novel and I encounter this line: "By one o'clock Mrs. Mayer would be alone, wondering what she was going to do rattling around in the family home by herself for the rest of her life." I don't go to Evanovich for moving, profound reading, but I have a feeling that line will stay with me awhile.

Again - fabulous! Laugh-out-loud funny, Stephanie Plum must use her wit and humor to solve another mystery and bounty hunt. This time her target is a psychotic gun runner and his partners, keep her Grandma Mazur safe, and ward off the wiles of cop Joe Morelli. Mystery, mayhem and a lot of fun.

I was much more impressed with this book vs. the first book in the series. I highly recommend this book to an adult female who enjoys mysteries. Stephanie Plum is a quirky, fun main character with a sex life that kept this reader in stitches!

Another fun read from Janet Evanovich and now I'm liking this series more. I didn't find the first book all that humorous, but did find myself laughing out loud during this one. If you haven't read any of the Stephanie Plum books, give it a try. Light, fun, a little mystery, a little romance, and just a great quick read!

These are just candy?fun, fast and empty of mental calories. There's nothing wrong with that; it's exactly what I needed while waiting in a noisy gym at an athletic event.

I didn't love this one like the 1st one...but it was a good read, drug out a bit though. I hope the 3rd one picks up a little bit like the first one did. I wanted to prove all those reviewers wrong that said it wasn't as interesting, but I can only agree. I am glad we got a more in depth look at Grandma though.

I love the Stephanie Plum series! I read each one as they come out. My friend turned me on to this series by giving me the first three books for Hannukah one year. I almost didn't make it through the first book because the writing is not the best, but my friend had raved about these books so much that I forced myself to finish one. By the end of "One for the Money" I was hooked because the characters are hilarious! Grandma always makes me laugh and I just love all of Stephanie's adventures. I have tried to read other books by this author and haven't liked them at all.

Rereading this ultra fun series so I can read the newer ones in a linear fashion and know everything that went on. In this one, Stephanie and Morelli start to heat up while looking for a relative of Morelli's that may have stolen some military weapons. A wonderfully fun series.

Stephanie Plum is up to her antics again while learning how to be a good bounty hunter. This time, however, she involves her Grandma Mazur, who is a real hoot. Together this duo is a force to be reckoned with. Just like the first one this is a light, entertaining, fast paced read.

The riotous sequel to One For The Money. Absolutely spell-binding as Stephanie's simple case of picking up a FTA (Failed To Appear) becomes complicated when he's no where to be found and is asked to find 24 missing caskets. This is one of the best series I've ever read.

Stephanie is still a dimwitt in the second book, but again the situations she manages to get herself in are funny! The story has a good plot and storyline.

"Dumb chick feeds information to slimy guy. Come on, slimy guy, I thought. Get careless. Give me some information in return."Moving on from instalment one, Stephanie continues to attempt to catch bail dodgers for her cousin Vinnie. He gives her what he thinks is an easy case in Kenny Mancuso, a first time offender. Kenny proves alarmingly slippery. Meanwhile, Grandma Mazur keeps getting into trouble and not all is as it should be at Spiro's funeral home.I think Stephanie and I will be parting ways. She's fun, she's fiery, but she keeps finding body parts in her fridge. The writing is just a little more graphic than I prefer it (VI Warshawski and Kinsey Millhone are my female PIs of choice). Stephanie herself remains so-so for me - I don't feel a connection to her as a character, there doesn't seem to be very much investment in her personal character development as all the focus is on her professional development. All the support characters remain highly entertaining. I love Grandma Mazur. In this one she conspires to open a casket in a closed-casket viewing, has some choice comments on the unfortunate things that show up in Stephanie's post, and gets herself into Quite Serious Trouble.Good unchallenging thriller/investigator reading. But I won't be carrying on with the series.

I am officially hooked on this series. About 3/4ths of the way through I made sure to go out and get books 3-6. This book was as good as the first, if not better. I loved that Grandma Mazur went along with Stephanie on some of her bounty hunter duties and I loved how Joe and Stephanie's friendship grew. I look forward to reading more of this series.

And the story continues... I'm absolutely having a great time reading about the developing relationship between Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli. (Enough that I read the last page of the book before I started, which is not something I have done since I was a child. By the way, it didn't ruin the story.) The secondary characters in this novel are well-rounded within the context of this story, but getting to know them over the past two books has been fun. I get a kick out of Grandma Mazur. Let me just say that the whole "Bobbsey Twin" thing really added something to the story. I even "enjoyed" reading about the creepy Spiro and crazy Kenny, but only because all the humor kept me laughing despite the morbid/dark moments. This is a great book for readers who enjoy laughing, a mystery, and a bit of romance. I must get the third book!
