About this audiobook

‘Wow! This just got under my skin from the start and I couldn't put it down… The creepy atmosphere and tension are built so gradually and so well that it literally has you looking over your shoulder the whole time!… I flew through it in a day and loved every second’ NetGalley review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mila and her husband Ethan are on their way to her sister’s wedding at a luxurious ski resort. As they drive through the mountains, surrounded by snow covered forests, Mila feels like everything is finally going to plan.

When the car engine suddenly stops and won’t start again.

Stranded, with night closing in, they make their way on foot back to where they saw a sign for some cabins.

When they finally reach them, they find the windows boarded up and the buildings in disrepair. They have the eerie sense they shouldn’t be there.

With snow falling more heavily, they have no choice but to break into one to spend the night.

In the morning when Mila wakes, Ethan is gone.

Now she is all alone.

Or is she?

A totally gripping and spine-tingling psychological thriller with twists and turns that will leave you breathless. Fans of The Sanatorium, The Hunting Party and The Castaways will be completely hooked from the very first page until the final, shocking conclusion.

    THIS BOOK IS SO BORING!!
NOTHING HAPPENS. I am up to chapter 22 and nothing has happened.
    Pins in my eyes.

It goes on and on and on and nothing happens- really boring, no suspense at all. Also the narrator’s voice is so grating that I could not being myself to root for the protagonist at all.
Maybe a narrator with a less annoying voice and a third person narrative would have made this less bad.. probably not though.

The book started out well and certainly captured my attention. Unfortunately toward the end it got really convoluted. I guessed quite a few of the twists and they were really not surprising. Amelia is a bit of twit and I felt really sorry for her sister Jess. As an oldest child I saw many similarities to my own upbringing. Little baby sister got all the best when it came to medical care and my parents really spoiled her. I never resented my sister for this though. At least Amelia was aware of how badly and differently her sister was treated. I enjoyed the survival part of the book and I think there were a few changes that could have brought the book to four stars for me. I would have ended the confrontation and showdown to a different place and time. Also the very beginning of the book is really an unfair red herring so don't let it confuse you. The narrator of the book was very good and she really brought the character to life and made her believable. A decent and entertaining listen.

Amazing! Absolutely gripping from the start. I couldn’t stop listening. Great twists and so well written I felt I was in the village with Mila.

This is a classic modern thriller. Loved every minute. Full of suspense, intrigue and atmosphere. Great narration as well.
