A young woman's idyllic life comes apart when her past comes back to haunt her in this psychological thriller by VALERIE KEOGH, the author of the Dublin Murder Mysteries.

After working as a hospital nurse in Dubai and London, Jodie settles down in Kent. With her job at a quiet nursing home and her loving new relationship, it seems that she's finally put her troubled past behind her. But someone from her childhood has been following her for years. And he's decided it's time to makes his presence felt . . . When Jodie receives a distressing call from her manager, her life takes an unexpected turn. Suddenly she's suspended and under investigation. Then her past comes thundering back with a strange parcel tied to her front door. Started off pretty well but towards the end the story became very unbelievable. Little too far fetched and extremely in appropriate. This Author writes well but her plots leave a lot to be desired.

This was so well written I imagine it could be a magnificent film.
The characters were described so clearly it felt as though I could see them. Multiple times my moth popped open and “WOW” escaped. The narration was spot on with regard to emotion and energy.
A terrific read, to say the least. Highly recommend!!

The story was well paced, a couple of “mmm that’s a little far fetched” moments otherwise a good read.

I didn’t dislike it so much I didn’t finish it, but I was really disappointed with the ‘twists’ in this story. I also just couldn’t get on board with the incredibly inappropriate relationships with some of the characters.
There also needs to be trigger warnings (which are unfortunately also slightly spoilers) of: incest, statutory rape because I can imagine that this book would be extremely upsetting for anyone who is triggered by these things
