About this audiobook

Once upon a time Gray Hartson was her big sister's boyfriend. The most popular guy at school who never noticed a fourteen-year-old dreamer. Then he left town to become a superstar and never looked back.

Ten years later Maddie Clark is all grown up and waiting tables in a diner, when he walks through the door and sends her heart spinning. And for the first time in their lives, he notices her too.

Gray's only back for a few weeks to visit his sick father.

He doesn't expect to meet a beautiful waitress who soothes his pain and paints color into his world.

And he definitely doesn't expect to fall for his ex's baby sister.

He's spent the last ten years singing about heartbreak. Now they're both about to find out how it really feels.

Contains mature themes.

Rockstar comes homes to his home town with his rowdy siblings and nosy neighbours.

I always love the small-town vibes when all the locals come together and have witty personalities or add funny commentary. It becomes addictive and adds so much to the world. Nothing seems to have changed when Gray comes back home except the waitress in the local diner. She's someone he definitely doesn't know and he would like to change that instantly. Maddie is a local through and through and would love to avoid Gray in whichever way she can since he's her sister's ex-boyfriend. Not just any ex but the last love of her life. So when she has to serve him and he doesn't recognise her that's the perfect reason to give a fake name.

I loved the flow of the story and how the characters kept bumping into each other, especially with the meddlesome locals. There wasn't a great deal of in-depth spice which I would have loved more of and I craved more tension between Gray and Maddie. These two had an enjoyable relationship to read about and Gray's family were the cherry on the cake. I didn't like Maddie's sister and even though she tried to redeem herself at one point I didn't see that as enough to recover her initial intentions.
