      WHAT A RIDE!!! I didn't expect so much sex though, I thought it was a YA fantasy somehow. BOY IT IS NOT. There are a lot of rape and graphic sex scenes so beware. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much i like the world and the characters. I'm going to listen to book 2 right now.

      I gave this a try because I like the narrator, M/M romance and fantasy. Was unable to finish this mess of a book. Can’t call this a romance, but hoped at least the fantasy aspect would be engaging. Wrong! World building is sparse and confusing, the plot is a mess, characters’ motivations are unclear and frustrating. Also, who wants to read an M/M book that is mostly M/F sexual encounters?! Disgusting fetishization of gay characters, and unnecessary, gratuitous violence and abuse. Don’t bother listening to it!

      Fantastic! I read all 4 of the books and then went back and listened to the audio books. Totally recommend if you’re into MM, high fantasy romance on the brutal side.
