About this audiobook

It’s not just Santa Claus who’s coming to town this Christmas … one of Hollywood’s sexiest stars is too, in this sparkling holiday romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Fern Michaels …

Emily Ammerman has always felt at home amid the ski runs and slopes of Snowdrift Summit, the Colorado resort her family has operated for decades. Snow is her element, and she doesn’t hesitate when a new client asks her to train him
to ski The Plunge, one of Colorado’s most treacherous runs.

But Zach Ryder is no regular client. On screen, he’s famous for starring as a daring CIA officer who always saves the day. In real life, he’s just as handsome and charming as his alter ego, though not everyone is impressed. Some are concerned
about what kind of impact these slick, showbiz types will have on their town.

As for Emily—she’s got a secret, and it’s one she can’t reveal to anyone, especially not to Zach: she’s his biggest fan. But she’s also a professional. She’ll train him till he’s ready to tackle any slope, but she won’t fall in love with him, the way so many others have.

Still, not everything in life can be planned, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t help but fall …

Fern Michaels

New York Times bestselling author Fern Michaels has a passion for romance, often with a dash of suspense and drama. It stems from her other joys in life—her family, animals, and historic home. She is usually found in South Carolina, where she is either tapping out stories on her computer, rescuing or supporting animal organizations, or dabbling in some kind of historical restoration.

Love all the food mentioned in this book and how yummy it all sounds, there are recipes at the end and I’ve got ingredients out for cookies.Love hearing about the jobs her and others do in this book, fascinating to understand them better.Like hearing about all the different lives of those in the family, the secrets, Handful of characters and easy to keep track of who is who.Cute story. Love ending how the whole family comes together.I received this review book from The Kensington Books via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.#FallingStars #NetGalley

If you're seeking a light, holiday romance story then this could well be the perfect book for you.Emily Ammerman is a single 29 year old only child, with an MBA and working in the family ski lodge business as a highly respected ski instructor. Her best friend from early childhood, Kylie, has the same job. She and Emily are more like siblings. Emily's parents have tucked Kylie under their wings and included her in all family gatherings. Emily's parents are eager to pass the management torch to Emily who is not so certain that she's ready. Her father gets a call from a competitive ski lodge owner asking for Emily's private instruction of an actor who is known to perform most of his own stunts on screen, (and who just happens to be Kylie's heart-throb-du-jour). Emily agrees to the deal. Emily has secretly been a fan of this actor for years and is quite tongue-tied when they finally meet. Can Emily keep it together; get this guy trained adequately to perform his stunts and keep it all professional? Only time will tell.Author Fern Michaels has crafted a fun, light story which settles around the holiday time leading up to Thanksgiving and segueing into the Black Friday holiday decorating spree. There's snow, Christmas music, family and hot chocolate - all perfect ingredients for a fun holiday romance. As I read the story, I could easily imagine it broadcast across the Hallmark channel. The story is introduced, secrets are held, conflicts arise and all is ironed out before the credits roll. I found the writing clear and the characters somewhat developed. The scene setting was as pretty as a picture. Sounds like the perfect place to fall in love. I am grateful to Kensington Books for having provided a complimentary copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads. Their generosity, however, has not influenced this review - the words of which are mine alone.

One thing I loved about this story was that there were no "bad, selfish, dangerous, evil characters. Characters were well developed and respectful of one another. As one who has grown weary of accusatory, disrespectful speech on the airways and in social media, I enjoyed reading about people who genuinely cared for one another and acted unselfishly.
