    Oh the ghettoness.????‍♀️
I really want to like this story I really really did. It has the potential of being a really good novel. However there are some very stereotypical things in this book that I just didn't like. The main male character was not appealing to me at all. (Gold teeth in the mouth, No thank you) However his personality was nice but the way that he carried himself was not very attractive. If you are a son of a billion dollar company. Then you should have been taught to carry yourself a certain way and to handle business a certain way. You don't always have to get into physical altercations to prove your point or to show how powerful you are. There's other ways around that. For this book to be written by a black author I was really shocked that there were so much hood stuff in this book. A lot of people see African Americans as a certain way as it is. So gold teeth, smoking weed and tattoos(tattoos get a pass that can be sexy) is not what I expected that I would be reading in this book..On top of that our African American paranormal novels are limited in popularity. I thought that the author would be more well-rounded with her readers. When it came to the characters (mainly in the main one). Again there are some great things about this novel that I actually loved and there are things that just turned me off. I really wanted to give this book five stars or four. But I just couldn't. There were just so many things that turned me off. However the author is a very good writer I just wish that she would have went in a different direction with the male character.
Oh and I can't forget about the cousin. The typical cousin that messes up. Very cliche

So despite the ghettoness. I could say that I did finish the book. I had to finish it and I did like it just those particular things really got to me.

I’ve never read about shapeshifters or any paranormal book. For this to be my first experience it was excellent. I’m curious to read more urban shapeshifter novels. This novel was beautifully written. It was vivid and heightened my imagination of how the The Lost World” looked. I’d love a sequel!
