About this audiobook

From #1 bestselling mystery and suspense author Blake Pierce comes a gripping new series: May Moore, 29, an average Midwestern woman and deputy sheriff, has always lived in the shadow of her older, brilliant FBI agent sister. Yet the sisters are united by the cold case of their missing younger sister—and when an eerily similar serial killer strikes in May’s quiet, Minnesota lakeside town, it is May’s turn to prove herself, to try to outshine her sister and the FBI, and, in this action-packed thriller, to outwit and hunt down a diabolical killer before he strikes again.

“A masterpiece of thriller and mystery.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

May Moore wastes no time investigating, but things quickly go south when her older sister, an accomplished FBI BAU agent who constantly outshines her, is called in by local authorities to help. Making matters worse, the case brings up dark memories and buried secrets from her family’s history—and neither May nor her sister are ready to confront the past.

But with a ticking clock, May and her sister will have to put aside old grievances to find this killer and save the next victim, and they will have to be careful not to assume this is the same killer from their past.

But is he?

A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured Deputy Sheriff, the MAY MOORE series is a riveting mystery, packed with non-stop action, suspense, jaw-dropping twists, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.

Books #2 and #3 in the series—NEVER TELL and NEVER LIVE—are also available.

All the tropes: impostor complex; the murdered sister 10 yrs ago, FBI moving on her patch, the hot strapping dude she likes but doesn't know if he's into her... Yawn.

Interesting story, but did anyone else notice the maaany errors in the audio? Things said twice, sentences not finished, it was kinda comical, which undermined the mood intended by the author.

The characters were completely unbelievable. The action completely predictable. The way that the older sister treated the younger sister was not believable. I gave it a shot start to finish. I will not be reading any more from this author

I just couldn't grip the narrators voice and tone. Didn't even make it through the prologue.

This book was about another sister who has worked her way into the Deputy Sherif and her name is May Moore is a sheriff’s deputy. The case she is working is about girls being found dead in the local lake. They have a serial killer on their hands. The FBI is coming to help. The only problem with that is May’s sister is one of the agents coming to help. They don’t have the best relationship. May is determined to figure out who is responsible despite her sister trying to sideline her. The characters in this book were great. May is a great deputy. She asks the right questions and follows the leads. Personal I think her sister is a crap FBI agent. She doesn’t seem to investigate but jump in. There is a chance that the case could be connected to their younger sister’s disappearance. I enjoyed this book a lot. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. Great job Blake.

This is a dreadful book. The characters are very one note and boring. The plot is predictable and dull. Don’t waste brains on this. Don’t know how it was published.

The hero of the book was to be a deputy sheriff. Deputy sheriff position is strong and confident. The writer wrote her as weak and a door mat. It was frustrating to say the least for her to be self conscious and weak. Very disappointing.

More a tween book than the stories I have read before from this author. I read it through to see how the plot was managed and it held my interest enough that I finished it.

I have listened to all the Riley Paige books but this was rushed I can't believe it was the same author and the narrator ruined an already bad story!

This book had the making of a great read but was disappointing. Not wanting to give away the story or characters I found some characters and some events were left in limbo wondering their outcome.

Started out ok. Interesting plot. But reminded me of a movie Ashley Judd was in. I knew how it would end and I almost didn’t finish it. It seemed to be written for a very young audience maybe?? - what FBI agent stands in front of a crowd and says .. we apprehended a suspect with and with great danger to ourselves .. and this is just one example. The conversations between the characters were very unbelievable. I get that it’s fiction but …. I am usually very tolerant of this kind of thing but this was way over the top

I've listened to a lot of Blake Pierce novels and have enjoyed the journey of all his female investigators. However, in this series I was especially drawn to the character of May Moore. Along with all the good plot, twists and turns you can always expect with this author and the introduction to a very brave new integrable deputy, made this an instant winner for me!
