Awesome fantasy/coming of age story. I loved Hemera and the journey that she takes. Bad guys were interesting and a few twists I didn't see coming. Received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked it, though I would categorize it as scifi/post-apololyptic instead of fantasy. It has many of the classic YA tropes but the premise is fairly original and interesting: the sun never sets, and everyone must retreat to their subterranean city by "high day" or be burned to a crisp, or eaten by the menacing "halves", humanoid monsters that can survive in high day and will attack on sight. The heroine adopting a dragonish baby monster as a pet was a nice touch!
