- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Four short stories featuring the characters of Henry and Sunday Britland.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I would actually give this 3.5 stars because this was a good set of short stories and I do like the main characters. That being said I felt the plots and twists could have been more developed. However this was a good easy read and I do enjoy Mary Higgins Clark books and wouldn't mind reading more of her character Sunday.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not a bad book just not my favorite.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Listening to these silly stories narrated by Mary Pifer was pure torture.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5i loved the fact that it followed Sunday and Henry for along time, i really like the different stories. This book seems like a set of shorts all together bout a couple him being the former president of the US and her a Congresswoman. In the first story his close friends has been framed for murder they help him out and find who the murder is when the murder traps Sunday and the friend at the friends house. The second Sunday her self is kidnapped and almost killed by the brother of a man she put in jail , when she was a public defender. Henry and crew find her and save her. The next one is when Henry buys a yacht that his family had owned and lent to the presidents of the US for years until a name went missing on it one night , that man was the Prime Minster of Costa Barria Garcia del Rio... they take the yacht to Boca Roton FL for a weekend , and then were going to have it all redone so they could lent it out again.. finally the missing piece to the mans death was found and his murder put to justice. The last story in this book is about Christmas and a little boy who shows up on their lawn 2 days before Christmas.. they keep him til Christmas eve late at night when his parents find out he was kidnapped then lost and where he is. A great book
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was written by Mary Higgins Clark, it is the sleuthing team of Henry Parker Britland IV, a loved former President with close ties to the government and his new bride of over a year Sunday who is beautiful, smart, and seventeen years younger. Henry and Sunday make a formidable team of sleuths–and never more so then when they set out to solve crimes occurring among their friends in political high society. The first crime involves a congressman friend of theirs who is being charged of a crime he can’t recall. While they race to save their friend they learn more than they want to about the killer. In the second crime Sunday has been kidnapped and Henry is forced to back to the White House and race the clock to rescue his beloved wife, before her time is up.The next story initials a yacht named the Colombia that Henry and his bride purchase through an auction over bidding Angelica De Rio who has papers hidden on the yacht talking about some evil things she had done to her spouse. In the last mystery a couple goes on a honeymoon and comes home to find their son Jacques has been kidnapped. They are informed not to alert the police. Henry and Sunday stumble upon the boy while trimming their tree for Christmas. The kidnappers have lost their claim to the boy when a car accident sends the boy running as far from them as possible. I think these stories are great they give you a glimpse of what can happen outside politics.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I've always loved this book and wished that there were more stories on the husband and wife team. The stories itself are interesting but the attraction for me has always been the combination of Henry and Sunday. The strong, smart and funny Sunday is just the match for her Renaissance man.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5On rereading this one, I couldn't even finish it. The main character is so annoyingly perfect in practically everything that I was wishing her kidnappers would hit her a little harder! I don't know what I saw in this book the first time I read it, but it did NOT age well.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Conversation and dialogue was a little stilted, but otherwise a nice quick read.
