After eight deployments to Afghanistan as part of a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Task Force, Chad transitioned from the military to the US Federal Air Marshal Service as a Special Agent where he served as a Surveillance Detection Senior Program Manager. Recognized for extraordinary bravery during an on-duty shooting, Chad received the Medal of Valor.
