Description

Today I speak with Dr. Marcy Crouch, founder of The Down There Doc and DT Method (@thedowntheredoc). Marcy is a Mama and Doctor dedicated to universally serving, empowering and equipping women and the birthing community with confidence building tips, along with valuable information & knowledge to support birth preparation and postpartum recovery. Through the DT Method’s online content, educational courses, advocacy and clear, candid information, Dr. Marcy, and her team of expert physical therapists, are dedicated to creating better care for women everywhere. Her vision is to set a new standard of physical health and wellbeing for birth preparation and postpartum recovery for the birthing community so women thrive physically throughout their lives. As an IVF Mama and a WCS, her journey through TTC, pregnancy, and transition into motherhood was not what she expected.  Even with her background and education, she was thrown for a loop with the symptoms and feelings she had while giving birth and postpartum.  She was inspired/determined to help other Mamas prep for and recover from birth so that no one else would be blind-sighted by the process.  Women deserve better.  Being a mom and CEO of her own company is exhausting, but she works every day to improve women's access to basic education about their bodies. We talk about:-why she chose pelvic health-dealing with unexpected issues in postpartum-making educated choices-being prepared for the possible interventions-providing early education-the impact of social media and sharing experiences-expanding different kinds of access  Time Stamps1:00 introduction6:40 entering into pregnancy feeling unprepared19:02 common things moms wish they knew23:30 early education and removing barriers37:38 being an equestrian and finding her grove after moving  44:07 available resourcesCONNECT WITH CARRIEIG: https://www.instagram.com/carriepagliano/Website: https://carriepagliano.comCONNECT WITH MARCYIG: https://www.instagram.com/thedowntheredoc/Website: https://www.thedowntheredoc.comThe Active Mom Postpartum Podcast is A Real Moms' Guide to Postpartum for active moms & the postpartum professionals who help them in their journey.  This show has been a long time in the making!   You can expect conversation with moms and postpartum professionals from all aspects of the industry.   If you're like me, you don't have a lot of free time (heck, you're probably listening at 1.5x speed), so theses interviews will be quick hits to get your the pertinent information FAST!  If you love what you hear, share the podcast with a friend and leave us a 5 start rating and review.
