Today’s guest, Siawash Zahmat, excels at helping coaches, who are struggling with their businesses, evaluate their priorities and move forward. What are your motivations for becoming a coach? Are you simply interested in entrepreneurship? Or do you have a genuine desire to serve other people? Coaching is a business that must be built from the ground up; it is very different from purchasing and continuing to operate an established company. It also requires training to indicate legitimacy and a high level of ethics and integrity. If you’re in it for a paycheck, you’ll likely be filtered out through the building process.
If your intention is service, then the struggles you are facing may be due to your approach to new clients. You don’t need to close the sale in your first session. Change your mindset about selling your service from transactional to relational. Focus on providing the same effort to a potential client as though they have already paid you; the money will follow. Commit to constantly getting better. The most successful coaches don’t do anything special; they simply get really good at the fundamentals and are willing to expand their perspectives.
