“The quality of your life is determined by the quality of the questions you ask.” Tony Robbins said that and it makes more sense than many of us realize. All life change starts with asking questions. We go through life constantly being shaped. Everything we do, read, listen to, see, almost any and all experiences - our brain is taking it all in, making notes, and creating beliefs and behaviors and patterns to keep you safe. Our brains are little meaning-making machines. And it’s focus is to keep us alive. To keep us safe and moving on to the next day. So, whether we consciously realize it or not, nearly EVERYTHING throughout our life has shaped us … or … distorted us. And if we never ask any questions, then we just get what we’re served. Imagine going to a restaurant, the server bringing a huge menu, and you say - “Nah, it’s okay. Just bring me something. Anything..”Whether we realize it or not, this is often exactly what we do with our life. To a large degree, your life and especially your experience of life can be almost whatever you want (just like ordering from a menu!). But, sadly, we just sit down at the table of life and say - I’ll have some version of what everyone else is having. Just bring me something. And then we wind up living a life we don’t enjoy very much. We end up not really enjoying life and we think that’s just the way it is and the way it has to be. But all of that can change if we start asking some great questions.
