Initially, it seemed Campbell might elevate the program to occasional greatness, but now, it appears he may have missed the chance for a higher-profile job and is teetering on the brink of irrelevance.

Mike Gundy, the head coach of Oklahoma State, raises questions among Cowboys fans. Despite his impressive 12-win season in 2021, there is a growing concern about whether he can lead the team to the College Football Playoff. Gundy's deep-rooted connection to the school has kept him in his position despite recent controversies. However, the repetitive pattern of being competitive but falling short in crucial games has begun to wear thin, especially as Oklahoma State believes it deserves a regular spot in the playoff conversation.
