Description

Susan Pierce Thompson, PhD, is the founder of Bright Line Eating (BLE). In her teens, she started using drugs, just for fun and experimentation at first. But she got really hooked and her drug abuse got worse and worse.By the time she picked up speed (or crystal meth), she was 16 and was very concerned about her weight already. Except that when she used speed, she didn't feel she had to eat on it. And she lost a lot of weight. Susan finally got clean and sober when she was 20. Her drug addiction had lasted six years. But within nine months she'd gained 40 pounds. Susan started teaching in a community college, obtained her PhD, and got to develop courses in the psychology of eating and positive psychology. These laid the framework for what she ended up developing in Bright Line Eating.Eventually, Susan traded her 12-step meetings for food meetings. She finally found the right configuration of what to do with her food. She lost her excess weight... and kept it off.Susan has been slender now for 19 years. She learned the miracle of not eating sugar and flour. She also weighs and measures her food. Her life got so much better after that. For Susan, "none is easier than some".
