How many times are we caught up with wanting external validation? The approval from our peers, our family, our friends? A pat on the back for our hard work? This can become a never-ending quest, as we constantly try to please others and gain their approval. The problem with this approach is that we may end up compromising our own values and beliefs in order to fit in or be accepted.
