Description
Addiction is a way people try to escape from physical or emotional distress. Addiction can also create chemical imbalances that create that distress. A sober person with depression is as much at risk for addiction relapse as a person who continues to use is at risk of worsening depression. It is imperative to address everything causing the neurochemical imbalances from negative thoughts, to addiction to inadequate sleep and nutrition.
