LSU football's third year defensive lineman BJ Ojulari has decided to enter the NFL Draft, which should be no surprise to LSU fans who have witnessed his elite play throughout his career with the Tigers. The Athletic's Dane Brugler mocks Ojulari in the beginning of the second round while some NFL Draft gurus predict Ojulari to go as high as top ten in the draft this season. What does BJ Ojulari bring to his future team in the league, both on the field and off?
With Ojulari's much-deserved graduation to the next level, where does that leave LSU's pass rush and defensive line next season? Getting Maason Smith back, who was sidelined for the 2022 season with a torn ACL, will be a huge addition to an already solid defensive line next year. Mekhi Wingo continues to impress and proved this year why LSU pursued him in the transfer portal last year. Jaquelin Roy has one remaining year of eligibility but likely will enter the NFL Draft while Saivion Jones is waiting for his turn to start consistently and prove himself as a pass rusher. LSU has playmakers returning next season, but will need to add depth and experience through the transfer portal this offseason.
