Description

He was "Low Carb" when "Low Carb" wasn't cool. Dr. William Davis's book Wheat Belly started the conversation about the changes in wheat since 1980. A cardiologist by training, he was frustrated with the lack of healing he observed in his patients, in spite of adhering to official guidelines. We talked about his transformation from a traditional cardiologist to one of the leading voices in the metabolic health field. We discuss the role of supplements, hormones, and the surprising importance of probiotics in restoring and maintaining metabolic health. We finish up with a surprising twist - symptom-specific probiota.Contact Informationhttps://www.facebook.com/DrDavisInfiniteHealth/https://www.linkedin.com/in/drwilliamdavis/https://drdavisinfinitehealth.com/https://foodmarble.com/product/foodmarble-aire-2/Episode Snippets:3:41 - 4:50 - Signs of early heart disease are everywhere7:57 - 8:32 - Removing wheat grains and sugar in the diet13:30 - 14:31 - When there’s evidence that the theory is wrong17:30 - 18:09 - Residual effects of the diet22:02 - 23:06 - Addressing the common causes26:35 - 27:35 - The process of willful ignorance26:15 - 29:53 - Nutrition and health topics are blacklisted by the media31:21 - 32:20 - Mainstream media don’t matter anymore35:06 - 35:39 - What the hormone oxytocin does49:11 - 49:49 - What we eat affects health and healing51:12 - 51:59 - The long-term diseases of civilizationConnect with Dr. Ovadia:TwitteriFixHearts WebsiteStay Off My Operating Table WebsiteAmazon Theme Song : Rage AgainstWritten & Performed by Logan Gritton & Colin Gailey(c) 2016 Mercury Retro RecordingsProduced by 38atoms & Jack Heald

He was a morbidly obese heart surgeon. Through high school, college, med school and surgical training, he followed the U.S. dietary guidelines for both diet and exercise. Yet nothing he did could keep the weight off. Each day in the operating theater he would split open the chests of people just like himself. He was heading for the operating table and knew he had to find solutions that worked. In 2016, he finally found a way to lose 100 pounds and keep it off. Now - in addition to doing heart surgery - he helps people just like himself get healthy, lose the weight and keep it off. Dr. Philip Ovadia is now a rebel M.D. working to keep people OFF his operating table.
