In this podcast, I’ll talk about how to burn fat by tapping into your body’s own fat reserve. First, you have to lower your carbs and sugar to between twenty and fifty grams per day. You can go below twenty if you choose. In the presence of sugar, your body won’t burn fat.
By lowering your carb intake, you’ll put yourself into ketosis. Your body will be running on fat fuel. You adapt to fat-burning. When you first start on keto, you’ll have to increase your dietary fat, otherwise, it will be hard for you to go from one meal to the next when you’re doing intermittent fasting. You want to combine healthy ketosis with intermittent fasting.
Once you’re not craving anything, and not hungry between meals, this indicates that your body is tapping into its own fat. As you adapt to fat-burning, you may plateau. If you do, reduce your dietary fat so your body consumes more of its own fat instead of the dietary fat.
Make sure you always have a moderate amount of protein; about three to six ounces per meal. You need protein because otherwise your body will break down its own muscles for fuel. But too much protein will stop fat-burning. So, to burn fat from your own body, keep the amount of protein moderate.
