Introduction
There once lived in a certain village a man who had nothing except a sizeable piece of land. The villagers looked down on him because he had nothing to offer. No one could invite him to any occasion since he had nothing to offer except to eat, drink and hobble about poverty and the government in any gathering.
Then one day he decided to change his narrative. He was fed-up with being mistreated in public, isolated by others, being inconsequential. He wanted to make something out of his life. He wanted to make good of his life.
The man put all his weight into all he had, tilling his piece of land. It was quite challenging but told himself it was doable. Withing 10 days he had cleared and dug up half an acre of his land. He dug furrows and, with the little he’d collected from well-wishers, cultivated his land. He spent most of his time tending to his crop and the spare time on digging up extra portions of his land, however small. When he saw he was going to receive a bumper harvest, he cut trees from his land and erected a store house. He knew he had to be prepared for his produce.
The man had some difficulty harvesting all his produce alone but he managed. He chose the best of his produce and set it aside as seed for the next season, while storing the rest in his barn. It struck him that he could plant even before the next rain and immediately went to work. He’d already reclaimed another 2 acres of land by then, that had previously lain idle, so now he sowed a bigger piece of land than before. Some of the villagers made fun of him as he juggled between fetching water for his crop from a nearby river and digging a well in the middle of his land. Ha knew he had to do it so he turned a deaf ear to them.
His crop was in full flower by next rains. The man had food enough to last him for the next six months in his store house and enough seed to sow the rest of his farm. He sold some of what he had in the storehouse and employed young men to clear and dig up his idle lands. He had already tilled and sowed by next rains. He sold some of the trees the young men had cut down as firewood and used the straighter and sturdier ones to build a bigger storehouse. He was expecting
