    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Any achievement needs the contributions and effort of many people, this project is also not different. Many of my well-wishers inspired me from behind the screen. I am thankful to them as they are the oasis of my life. I have taken notes, suggestions, and ideas from several seminars, magazines, and many other forms of information. Unfortunately, all the resources were not noted categorically, therefore it became almost impossible to mention their particulars. But from the core of my heart, I express my utmost gratitude to all of them.

    Book Description

We are more mature with all the experiences and knowledge that we have acquired.

The problem is, we focus on what we lack rather than what we are perfect and complete. There is nothing wrong with analyzing our weak points and working on them but what we overlook in the areas where we are best, perfect, and complete.

There's a story about eagles, eagles live to be sixty to eighty years old. After reaching his forties, he goes into exile for nearly 100 days until the climax where he begins to pluck all his feathers and break his claws, the beak hitting the rocks. It starves for the next 100 days without any food until new feathers, beaks, and claws sprout.

He resuscitates himself, lives newborns for the next 20 to 40 years.

We, humans, are social animals who learn to live from the animals and birds around us.

Let's practice like how an eagle works to resuscitate itself in our way to focus on the physical aspects while spending more time on our health through regular exercise, good nutrition, and disciplined life.

Let's not be demoralized by age ... Age is just a number.

Let's work on the positive side of improving and upgrading our skills.

    *Stay Hungry Stay Foolish*

Let's live every moment of our life and have fun like this is going to be the last day of our lives, but keep learning every moment as if we are going to live like an immortal forever.

Remember that reaching quarantine is not a curse but a blessing in disguise.

Did you know that lions only succeed in a quarter of their hunting attempts - which means they fail 75% of their attempts and only succeed 25% of them?

Despite this small percentage shared by most predators, they do not despair in their pursuit and hunting attempts.

The main reason for this is not because of hunger as some might think, but it is the understanding of the law of wasted effort which was instinctively incorporated into animals, a law in which nature is ruled.

Half of the fish eggs are eaten ... half of the baby bears die before puberty ... most of the world's rains fall in the oceans ... and most tree seeds are eaten by birds.

Scientists have found that animals, trees, and other forces of nature are more receptive to the law of wasted effort.

Only humans think that the lack of success in a few attempts is a failure ... but the truth is: we only fail when we stop trying.

Success is not about having a life without pitfalls and falls ... but success is about overcoming your mistakes and going beyond every step where your efforts have been wasted waiting for the next step.

If there is one word that sums up this world, it will simply be: start over.

    Always be inspired.

    Chapter 1

    Broke is better than poor

Being broke is a temporary situation. Being poor is a state of mind. (MikeTodd)

Arnold Schwarzenegger lived without plumbing or phone:

Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the wealthiest action stars of all time, is seven times Mr. Olympia with a net worth of $ 400 million and a movie resume that earned $ 473 billion worldwide. He also holds the title of 38th Governor of California. However, when he was born in 1947, his Austrian homeland was devastated by World War II, and the future Governor lived in a house without plumbing or telephone. Hunger-based riots plagued the streets outside his door.

Big names like Steve Jobs, Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Leonardo DiCaprio, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shahid Khan, J.K. Rowling, and Ralph Lauren came from a humble background. Being poor doesn’t stop them from chasing their dreams and chasing success. It shouldn't stop you too.

Thomas C. Corley's research on 233 millionaires - that is, ‘Rich Habits' research - has shown that:

Out of the 233 millionaires, 177 were self med millionaires, and 56 inherited their wealth.

Of the 177 self-made millionaires, 105 (59%) came from middle-class households and 72 (41%) came from poor households.

That said, growing up poor could have some advantages that can make you successful in the future.

    ––––––––

    1. You learned to live frugally

When you are broke, you should live frugally. Reduces unnecessary expenses. You only buy what you need, not what you want.

You eat to feed your stomach, not to enjoy its taste. You eat until you are no longer hungry instead of when you were full. You learn to save money.

.With a frugal life, you unlocked the saver part. What remains is the investor part where you have to work hard.

    2. You learned to be creative

Surprisingly, when you have less, you tend to be more creative.

Forbes reported a study that aimed to examine how a sense of abundance affects creativity.

What we found is that abundant resources may have a negative effect on creativity. When you have fewer resources, you use them more creatively, said Ravi Metha, the lead author.

If you go to a poor country and see how they solve problems by repurposing older products, it’s super-innovative.

When you have limited resources, you use your imagination to create what you want. You learn to be resourceful. When you have no toys, you create them. A pen, a can, a rock, or anything can be your toys! Are they less fun? No!

    3. You have a strong desire to change

Not everyone wants to be very rich. But sure, nobody wants to be poor. Who likes to fight to make ends meet? Who does not expect to eat what he likes, live where he wants, and use what he loves?

Poverty can either beat you down or make you stronger.(Corley)

It depends on your mindset. Being poor can be your excuse or your motivation.

In life, you can blame a lot of people and you can wallow in self-pity, or you can pick yourself up and say, listen, I have to be responsible for myself. ( Howard Schultz)

If you have a strong desire to transform your life and are willing to die for it, you are more likely to succeed. Hard work and perseverance are the open secrets to success. But how many are willing to do that?

    4. You appreciate every single opportunity

Frankly speaking, not being rich is like missing a head start. You lose many opportunities and advantages such as learning, networking, health, and more.

These are exactly the reason why poor people appreciate opportunities more. They would embrace their chances given and work hard to achieve success. Living in poverty makes them more grateful for what they have. They don’t take things for granted. They are easier to be satisfied with and hence happier too.

A KFC bucket may be ordinary for middle and upper-class families but it could be a feast for the poor families. Picking up a dime could make their day while some others don’t even bother looking at them.

    5. You have fewer worries

Ironically, you have fewer things to worry about. Your only concern is money. Your focus is just to earn more money. Money can probably solve most of your current problems.

What about those who are filthy rich? They fear losses in the stock market. They are afraid of being robbed. They care about their passion, dreams, comfort, style, next travel destination, the taste of food, and other items that don't seem to be their immediate concern.

    6. You are more cautious with failures

Failing means going back to poverty. Losing your job means that your financial crisis will return. You want to avoid that. You don't have a safety net. You have to succeed.

That is not necessarily a bad thing. You cannot be too careful. You became more cautious in decision making to avoid making mistakes. You became more responsible. Making fewer unwanted mistakes could help you achieve success faster. Most importantly, you will not give up easily.

    7. You probably have better survival skills

Guess who will survive the longest if the poor and rich were dragged to a desert island? My bet is on the poor unless they decide to help each other. Why? Those who grew up poor tend to have better survival skills.

They have a fit or die mentality. They lived in a less decent environment and have fewer resources, therefore making them highly resourceful and resilient. When you don't have the money to buy what you need, learn to live without it or find a way to create it yourself.

    8. You have more true friends

Everyone wants to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down. (Oprah Winfrey)

The wealthy are often surrounded by good-weather friends. If you are poor, the good news is that you don't have to deal with them. Those who are here with you in all these difficult times are your true friends. They don't intend to take advantage of you because you don't have much of that ...

Success is empty if you arrive at the finish line alone.  (Howard Schultz)

    9. You have nothing to lose

What could be worse when you are already at your worst? When it has hit bottom, there is only one way to go: UP. Nothing stops you, what are you afraid of? Take the risk and reach the stars!

Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire.

    ( Oprah Winfrey)

Of course, growing up poor is not the secret formula for success. However, you don't have to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth to be rich. By turning poverty into your advantage, you will see a greater chance of success. Learn the lessons of your life.
