I met so many people with great skill and talent but lacked the drive to take their inborn talents to highest levels. I met people with the right mental tools, but stinking attitude. Most of these people are negative and pessimistic.  These individuals give up easily as they expect things to happen as fast as possible. They have no understanding that good things come to those who are patiently working hard and not expecting instant results. They fail to understand that ‘easy come, easy go.’

I met so many people who postponed carrying on their endeavour to succeed because they were afraid of failure; and would claim that they are waiting for the perfect time to start. Some people procrastinate under the banner of being young and would start their journey of life after gaining a few more skills. Others claim that they are too old to try something new.

I met so many people with excuses to try and instead choose ordinary life, away from failure, embarrassment and possibly living their best lives doing what they were born to do. They choose to be safe from possibly being the best that this world has ever seen. They choose to be safe from being successful – excuse the pun. What a tragedy! 

I came to realise that there is a need for a book that will expand that, it is possible to achieve all your dreams, if you don’t give up. But more importantly trigger people to start.

The book explores challenges that distract us from our dreams. Many a times the predicament that people face is to start on a journey of their dreams. And once you start, I don’t believe that you can fail to get what you want in this world if you are relentless to never say die. It might take twice as long, if you believe; I am telling you today that you have a one-way ticket to the top.

No dream is small. No dream is useless. No dream is better than the other. Never look down on what God sowed in your heart and be envious of what other people do. This very moment should be the beginning of great things in your life. Forget about people. Forget about failure.

What a ride it has been to write this book. It took me two years to finally finish writing this book. Every day of researching the material for the book was a new experience for me.

Here is to all the people of the world that are hungry for success.

Introduction

Curtis James Jackson III AKA 50 cent declared: I will die a millionaire or at least die trying. He is one of the 1% of the world riding on a wave of success regardless of a lot of adversity that he faced at some point in his life. Yes, 1% of the world population is said to be successful while 99% is wandering in the wilderness either planning without implementation or just watching as the world go by. That means 1% spend more time, not only planning, but implementing those plans of life. They are disciplined, dedicated, determined and fearless to make it to the top. They are motivated. They believe that all things are possible no matter how dark, impossible, and uncertain the road is.

The 99% of the world population that plans and never implements are easily distracted. They move from one environment to another and change the plan without seeing any result of something that they started. They spend time with losers, procrastinate, do not listen to anyone, do not learn, and easily give up. They fear change and would rather stay where they are safe. They have no goals and all they do is moan and groan about how unfair life is that some people are making it while they remain where they are. They are wishing for rosy change in their lives, but they are not doing anything about the status quo. Instead, they expect things to change for the better through luck.

All the great people that made it to the top: Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Michael Jackson, Benjamin Franklin, Mike Tyson, Tupac Shakur and Nelson Mandela have told time and time again that everybody has a potential to be whatever s/he wants to be.

Successful people have self-belief with the ability to work super hard, are persistent, patient and take risks. They do not chase money and surround themselves with dreamers just like themselves.

It is all in the mind. People with positive mindsets are not deterred. They are willing to start. They make way where there is no way. They do not depend on people believing in them to start on a journey of their lives, but the drive from within. They can change the negative inner voice that is forever saying it is impossible into a sweet inner voice that says: it is possible. They depend on the positive voice that keeps saying: this is your moment, keep going because no matter how dire the situation is, you will make it. They are fierce in their fight to get what they want. They do not make excuses. Positive people put this up on their walls: Ever tried. Ever failed. No Matter. Try again. Fail better. They develop the winning attitude through motivation and confidence. They try new things. They are afraid to start new things, but courageous to leave their comfort zone to fight for what God has planted in their hearts. They can survive storms without blaming life.

Successful people are goal-oriented and result-driven. They put their money where their mouth is. They believe in themselves and always honest.

This book is especially for all the people that procrastinate. The dreamers that fail to shake off their fear and follow it. This book is for those that are sick and tired of being average. For people that have given up because they are old. This book is for all that have started on a life journey of success. More importantly, this book is for you.

Reading this book offers great change in your life. You have greatness within you. Inside the pages of this mental offering, there is a window that will enable you to see through yourself – that everything is possible if you put your mind to it. It will make you see that no matter how dark the night is, a brighter day will follow. You will make better choices and will not let opportunities pass you by. You will be inspired to believe in yourself and act in whatever your purpose for existence is. You will be more positive through the worst situations and will never say die regardless of how many times you tried and failed. When you feel weak and defeated; reading this book will give you strength to work towards your dreams.

The Bible says: with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26). Doesn’t matter what sceptics think. All your dreams can come true. Through reading this book, you will feel inspired to set new goals and when you feel stuck in unexpected situations you will have the tools to respond differently. And handle situations better. You will get to know what suits you better without wandering on the same ground for long.

It is imperative that you should take notes of the key point that you get from this book. This will not only remind you of what you read but stimulate you to have intellectual conversations with yourself. And will always believe that: no weapon formed against you shall prosper. That you are the head, not the tail.

The kind of friends you hang out with will slightly change. You will attract people who dream big.  Losers, pessimists, and haters will no longer share a life stage with you because you are a winner, an optimist and have extraordinary love for all humankind. Your life will change, and you will now know that success is not to be measured by how much money you have in your bank account, but by deriving joy in impacting lives in a positive way in doing what you love. Money will come as a reward for living a purposeful life as gold and silver belong to God, our Father.

Do not wait too long to read this book because you will feel energised and regain your faith in hard work. You will learn from other people who became success stories through hard work and unwillingness to give up regardless of how much pain you feel. Your new belief will be: failure is a steppingstone. You will broaden your vision through meeting the right people; planning and implementation of a way to journey through life. You will discover that you are not ordinary!

I used the most common endeavours such as sports, music, writing, acting and dance as examples of the purpose one can have. These were used to embrace the sea of talents that people are born with to make a difference. I would like you to know that whatever germinates in your mind to make a difference in society should be pursued. You were born for great things. If music is used as an example, please take it as a blank and fill in what you are pregnant with. Never be limited by anything. Be aggressive. Be fierce. Be undeterred.  You can do it.
