Welcome to the book ‘Vegan amuse-bouches’ which is part of the ‘Posh Vegan dinner parties’ series. There are other books in the series focusing on side dishes; starters; mains; desserts; drinks and even truffles. I wrote the series after realising so many cookbooks offer the same narrowly-focused selection of recipes which are quite bland and largely uninspiring. I would sit at home, flick through them and find nothing. I had started to feel that by being vegan I was missing out on something. I didn’t like that feeling! I wanted more! I couldn’t find a book dedicated to vegan amuse-bouches so I wrote it and the series!
I wanted to start with amuse-bouches because they are so versatile. They can be made ahead and brought out at the last minute and are always popular. I love the definition of them being palate teasers
and that is what I was looking for! Something to tease my tastebuds or maybe tickle them.
Here you will find a range of amuse-bouches from around the world to inspire you to get into the kitchen and start preparing. I particularly like the devilled potatoes and stuffed mushrooms, although to be honest, I live for mushrooms!
Amuse-bouches are ideal as a little snack at the start of a dinner or why not prepare several and serve them as a meze for you and your partner? Maybe for a date night? Might I suggest a glass of chilled vegan champagne to accompany them?
