My absence was not intentional. I had a sudden explosion of drama when an ex-girlfriend, Tesha, showed up unannounced and stirred everything up. She acted like she owned the place and that we could magically fix everything now that we’d spent some time apart. She started by banging on my front door so hard it sounded like someone was trying to break in. When I didn't respond right away, she went around to the back door and pounded on it even more loudly. Thankfully, there is enough distance between these houses, or someone would have surely called the police on us.
As I approached the backdoor to open it up, she barged in without hesitation. Da fuck,
I mumbled to myself as I shook my head in disbelief. It always went like this: she showed up uninvited, expecting me to take her back. What do you want, Tesha?
I asked, trying to sound composed but feeling irritated as fuck. For us to give it another shot, Dez,
she replied confidently, with a look of determination in her eyes. It's been a while, and we should be good now. Don't you miss me?
I nearly choked on my own spit when she had the audacity to say that. What do you mean? We argued almost every day, and you weren't exactly pulling your weight around here. What's a man supposed to do with that?
I confronted her, growing angrier by the second. I know I messed up. I was going through a tough time and wasn't myself. That's why it was better for us to take a break. But now I'm better and ready to be back in your heart.
