How My Journey Made Me a Better Person
*********
Sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.

Writing this book gives me immense joy. My name is Rajkumar Guddadigi, born and brought up in Mumbai. I am always grateful to my parents for every sacrifice they made for me. Though they are not highly educated but made me a person of high values and ethics.. My father completed his education till class 10th and left the native place Gulbarga (a district of Karnataka state, India) now called as Kalaburagi and came to Mumbai in search of job and livelihood. My mother could not go to school but she is very practical, courageous, and action taker woman.
At that time, I was living in Chawl (its Marathi word, its home of meagre income people in Mumbai) of Andheri, Mumbai, India with my siblings (my elder brother and younger sister) and my parents. My elder brother was very studious, so me and my sister followed his footstep. The school we attended was St. Catherine's School, which was near our home and the medium of instruction was Marathi. School fees were very nominal in those days compared to today.
My mother had a great influence on all of us. She used to support my dad by doing the tailoring work. As a result of moving to Mumbai, she learned languages like Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu.
I still remember during the rainy season, our chawl used to flood with water, and we all siblings had to remove it from the room and clean the floor frequently. This was regular activity for us in rainy days. If it rained heavily, then our family and neighbours would stay awake all night for fear of rainwater entering our homes.
