The lights in my office flickered for a brief second as if to tell me that something bad was going to happen, and something terrible just might happen. I heard footsteps approaching the door, and from the sound that they were making, it appeared that it was my boss.

And it appeared she was accompanied by someone.

She could be nice, but she wasn't. She was actually a pain in the ass, especially because she was always putting me down, never hearing me out, and never taking my opinions seriously.

On top of that, she was also extremely narcissistic, one of the reasons that her opinions and her projects were always put before all the others.

Suffice it to say that I wasn't the only one with this opinion about her.

But, okay. She was coming and I might as well prepare myself for the impending storm she was going to bring.

The door was opened and my eyes widened, not because Gabi was here, but because she was with someone. He was big and young. I could tell that just from looking at him, and I didn't like that one bit.

I had always been highly competitive, and it was something about me that would never change. Not to mention that I didn’t believe in myself much...
