asho and Raji were bubbling with excitement. Traveling to a new place always gives them an out-of-this-world feeling. Visiting a happening place like Dubai would be a lot of fun. They were going on their first tour of the city. Nilu Pisi, on the other hand, had been to Dubai a few times before.
They were packing their belongings. Nilu Pisi warned that Dubai would be mildly cold in December, so they should bring warm clothing. Raji protested. So where's the fun in that? Why does Dubai have so many shopping malls? Why are most of the best brands in the world available in Dubai?
She peppered her aunt with rapid-fire questions.
Nilu Pisi gave in. Well then, I'll buy a few of them for the two of you,
she said with a smile.
Yasho and Raji were more than pleased to hear that. They both kissed Pisi on both cheeks.
The three of them finally reached Kolkata International Airport long before dawn. The inside of a modern international airport delighted them. After passing through immigration and security check, Raji spent some time at the duty-free shops. The Emirates Airlines flight from Kolkata to Dubai was about to take off at 8:30 a.m. Yasho, Raji, and Nilu Pisi took three seats next to each other, with Raji, the youngest, sitting by the window.
Raji's father, Raghavendra Chowdhury, is a wealthy businessman. He runs a large engineering equipment manufacturing company that he inherited from his forefathers. His close business associate, Nitin Bansal, owns a villa on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah. It remains mostly unoccupied because Bansal is too busy managing his vast business empire. He travels for business purposes to his offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Dubai, and Singapore throughout the year. Bansal has developed a considerable commercial interest in Dubai. He has ventured into several lucrative business areas over the years and has amassed a substantial fortune.
Bansal stays in the villa when he visits his Dubai businesses. Sometimes his relatives or acquaintances stay there when they tour Dubai. However, most of the time, it remains unoccupied. In the past, Bansal had asked Raghavendra a few times, Why don't you take your vacation in Dubai? The city has so many spectacular things to offer. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to see what a modern city looks like. You are welcome to stay at my villa. I can guarantee that you’ll enjoy your trip.
All of these temptations, however, had little effect on Raghavendra. I don't have time to die,
he declared solemnly. And you're talking about a nice vacation in Dubai? It's not in my kismet.
He then smiled and held Bansal by the shoulders before slowly saying, At least for a few more years.
In only the last month, the detective duo had solved a major case. They had to go through a lot to solve the Banwarilal murder case. Yasho and Raji were running around three cities trying to get to the bottom of the mystery, which eventually led to the arrest of the criminal gang by the police.
We need to get away from here and go somewhere else to relax.
Soon after, Raji urged.
I agree completely. You need a getaway tour very badly.
Nilu Pisi concurred.
Yasho was reluctant, but ultimately she had no choice but to back down. All right, let's recharge our batteries,
She smiled as she conceded. By the way, we earned a lot of fees on the last case. So, spending a chunk of it on our tour won’t be a bad idea.
As usual, Nilambari Devi went to her elder brother to get his consent.
In that case, why don't you go to Dubai?
Raghavendra said after hearing his sister's plea. Good accommodation is available in a posh area of the city. The owner will be delighted if you stay there for a while.
Nilambari was hesitating. She was not willing to stay in some unknown person’s house. Sensing that, Raghavendra Babu smiled. "Aare, you know him quite well. He is none other than my good old friend Nitin Bansal."
So everything was settled then. And the three of them were on their way to Dubai.
The plane was now about halfway there. They had finished their brunch, which had been served by crew members. Yasho then went to the restroom. As she was walking back from the toilet, someone called her name. She turned around and saw Samiran waving at her from his seat. Samiran Majumder. The man is six feet tall and has a dashing appearance. He stood up and walked over to her. Samiran looked sharp in a mauve button-down shirt, black trousers, and a grey slim-fit casual blazer—all from renowned international brands. Yasho caught a glimpse. Where are you right now, Samiran Da?
Yasho enquired.
I currently call Abu Dhabi my home.
Samiran replied. Working with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for the past five years
So, why did you choose an Emirates flight when you could have taken an Etihad flight—direct to Abu Dhabi?
Oh! Simple. How else would I have met you after all these years?
Samiran had a hearty laugh.
Yasho appreciated his witty and humorous response. Samiran was Yasho's old neighbourhood hero. He was brilliant in his studies as well as in sports. In those days, the young guys, especially the girls, used to hero-worship him. They would follow all his activities.
Samiran broke her trance. Actually, we have a conference scheduled in Dubai—an engineering consultation with some firms. I will go to Abu Dhabi by road after that. It's a 150-kilometer trip that will take about an hour and a half.
He informed
Yasho nodded.
Where are you now and what are you going to do in Dubai?
It is now Samiran’s turn to ask questions.
Yasho told him everything. Samiran gazed in awe at Yasho. My God! You are a great guy now. You will be living in the swankiest part of Dubai. Do you know that Shah Rukh Khan owns a villa on the Palm Jumeirah?
Samiran gushed.
But I heard there are numerous villas and apartments in that area.
That's correct, but only the crème de la crème lives there. See if you can bag one of them.
Samiran remains the same. Yasho was thinking to herself. Despite being in such a prominent position, he uses language typical of a neighbourhood youngster. She led him to their row of seats and introduced Raji and Nilu Pisi to him. When Samiran spotted Raji, Yasho noticed that his eyes lit up briefly. Raji appears to be a trendy, metropolitan beauty with a great figure and a good height.
Are you into sports?
Samiran asked Raji.
Raji smiled coyly. Raji was a champion in many sports, including tennis, badminton, and swimming. She is also trained in judo and karate. And to top it all off, Raji is a skilled pistol shooter.
With pride in her voice, Yasho told Samiran.
Samiran was dumbfounded. Before he could say anything, Yasho handed him both their business cards.
Yashodhara Roy, Chief Investigator, Sharp Detective Agency
Rajeshwari Chowdhury, Investigator, Sharp Detective Agency
Their office address, phone numbers, and email addresses were also mentioned there.
Samiran raised his hand in salute. Oh, my goodness! The girls are running a detective agency! That’s quite interesting.
He stated.
Raji pointed out to Nilu Pisi, My aunt; she is our chief motivator.
She said it with admiration.
I don’t want to lose this opportunity.
Samiran said, I'd like you to tell me about a few cases that you've solved.
Motioning towards the back of the plane, he continued, The plane's last two rows are completely empty. Let's sit there and hear some of your stories.
That’s great,
Yasho said. Let’s go there and occupy the seats. Our time will pass well. And you, Samiran Da, can provide us with some useful information about Dubai.
No one knew how the time had passed so quickly between their exchanges of stories. The plane landed in Dubai on time. Samiran invited them to visit his Abu Dhabi home.
Since he
