    s the plane penetrates the aerosphere of Damascus, the city loomed in the horizon like a mosaic with its intertwined buildings and trees. As soon as the plane landed in the airport, its passengers coming from Saudi Arabia disembarked, and among them was Abu-Yacine who headed to the taxi stand as soon as he picked up his luggage. And with his many bags, he began searching for a taxi to take him to Al-Hassaka. In vain was his search as the first driver refused because of the long distance, and so did a second and a third. As Abu-Yacine glared at the taxi drivers’ faces, he noticed that all of them were in their sixties. He, then, smiled and said to himself: no doubt they refused!... Driving nine hours under this heat surely overburdens such old men. Only then, he decided to rectify the situation by going to a young well-built tall man who was wiping the windshield of his car with a wet cloth.

    Abu-Yacine approached him with a hopeful smile and said:

    The young man turned around and there he saw a seemingly good customer with his many bags that he barely could lug. Like someone who stumbled upon a valuable catch, the young driver quickly answered while he threw the cloth on the windshield:

    The smile faded away from the young man’s face, his excitement withered away and he answered in a cold tone while frowning:
