Shevalle T. Kimber
A called and ordained woman of God. I am sensitive to people's roots and earnestly respect the God of their truth, even when I disagree with some particular views. Over time I have found that some critical conversations are missing from traditional church dialogue and are even frowned upon. Discourse about sex and sexuality, cis and same-gender loving people, and reflection on how and why the church can sometimes get caught up in rigid views. As a change agent and critical thinker whose goal is to reach ALL people in ministry because we all have a space in our lives that only God can fill. Having been a single mom at a young age, a wife, hairstylist, First Lady, Rev., Pastor, Chaplain, Spiritual Counselor, Fur Mommy, and Author. Makes me a well of experiences and wisdom to draw from as I advocate for all of us to live whole— in mind, body, and spirit. Shevalle Turner Kimber has dedicated her life to the study of theology and the teaching of Biblical Studies. Shevalle has accomplished so much in her life, graduating from the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention Christian Leadership School with a diploma in Biblical Studies, and later from American Baptist College of Nashville TN, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Bible and Theology, and was inducted into the Delta Epsilon Chi, The Association for Biblical Higher Education Honor Society. She also obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School and was ordained in 2018. Shevalle is married to Rev. Dr. Boise Kimber, and a loving mother to Ronald, Shevalle, and Savion. She is also a doting grandmother to Sean, Tristan, London, Vanessa, Kamila, and Kendall, and a proud owner of her fur baby George. In her free time, Shevalle enjoys walking, reading, eating, dancing, and planting/gardening. She is guided by her favorite scripture, Galatians 8:31—"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Day 1
Stretched!
Beloveds, have you ever tried to move God off his throne and put yourself there instead? What I mean is that you are trying to handle yourself. Like you had something to do with creating you. Have you ever tried to disregard some of the things that God said to you about yourself and the plans He has for you because you thought you knew better? Sometimes, we find ourselves telling God that He isn’t moving fast enough, or He should do this or that, and when He doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want Him to, then we get angry, and we are off to do our own thing. Jonah 4:1–2 (NRSV), "but this was very displeasing to Jonah, and he became angry. He prayed to the Lord and said, ‘O Lord! Is not this what I said while I was still in my own country? That is why I fled to Tarshish at the beginning; for I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and ready to relent from
