Chapter 1

Lily sighed, yet another appointment with a doctor that had led to nowhere. Well, to a dead end really. She was never going to bear children of her own. She was barren and even the most fertile man she could find wouldn't change that.

She felt tears begin to swell in her eyes. Up until today she still had a hope, a small one, but hope nonetheless. But not now. Her biggest dream would never be. Adoption was a possibility of course. But she wanted to be pregnant, she wanted to see her belly grow big and feel life inside her. She wanted the feeling of giving birth, no matter how painful it would be. As long as she got to have that feeling of bringing life into the world.

Driving through the woods back to her house it became hard to see the road as her tears finally broke, flowing down her cheeks and making her blouse wet.

She thought of stopping the car and waiting till she was done crying, but she really just wanted to be home, curled up in bed, sheets shielding her from the world.

A tinge of happiness went through her as she pulled up in front of her house. It was small and old, but it was hers and she felt safe there even though she was miles from any neighbor. The house was so isolated that no one ever passed by, even by accident.

She turned off the car and went inside throwing her keys into a small bowl on an old counter and made for the kitchen. Deciding against just hiding under her sheets she made a large cup of tea and fished out a large bowl of ice cream from the freezer.

Armed with tea, ice cream, and a spoon she went to her bedroom and turned on the tv, and made herself comfortable watching an old movie.

Chapter 2

It was dark outside when she woke up again. The tea was cold and the ice cream melted in its bowl on her nightstand and the only light came from the TV. She couldn't quite shake her sleepiness off as if fog shrouded her mind.

Slowly she became aware of the movie playing on the TV. It was an old one with a young witch summoning a demon to do her bidding. An idea began to stir in her mind. She had already summoned minor demons and they had been able to do small things for
