he town of Ravenswood lay cloaked in darkness, the moon casting its silvery light over the quiet streets. Emily Carter sat upright in her bed, her heart pounding in her chest as she struggled to shake off the remnants of a haunting nightmare. The memory of that fateful night loomed large in her mind, refusing to be forgotten.

It’s okay, Emily. It was just a dream, she whispered to herself, the words offering little comfort against the chill that clung to her skin like a second shadow. She reached for the glass of water on her nightstand, her hand trembling as she took a sip, the cool liquid doing little to soothe her frayed nerves.
