About this ebook

A poetic anthology that presents a vision of the public and private hells to which human beings are exposed throughout their lives. A book containing an anthology in edition: Piedmontese-English, Veneto-English and Breton-English.

How many hells exist?

The question of how many hells exist does not have a simple answer. It is a dilemma that invites deep reflection and analysis. In the search for an answer, we are faced with the understanding that all hells are ultimately one: the one that resides within ourselves.

In this perspective, each individual carries their own hell, shaped by their experiences, fears, and anxieties. It is an intimate and personal space, where shadows intertwine with light, and where internal demons struggle to dominate the will.

The journey of life then becomes an initiatory journey, a passage in which we confront our own demons and seek to escape the chains that bind us to our own hell. Through introspection and self-knowledge, we seek redemption and find inner peace.

In this sense, the journey of life becomes a process of transformation, a path towards freedom and redemption. It allows us to transcend our own limits and find the true essence of our being.

Poetry, with its powerful ability to explore the depths of the human soul, stands as the safest and most revealing way to analyze individual hells and discover the escape routes that allow us to transcend them. In a world full of complexities and ambiguities, poetry offers a symbolic and evocative language that transcends the barriers of linear thought and plunges us into the abyss of our own emotions and experiences.

Each individual faces their own circles of hell, shaped by their experiences, traumas, and internal struggles. Poetry, with its ability to express the ineffable and the inexpressible, provides us with a safe space to explore these dark depths and give voice to our most hidden and perverse demons. Through metaphors, images, and symbols, poetry allows us to articulate the pain, anguish, and conflict that lie deep within our being.

However, the most fascinating thing about poetry is that it does not offer definitive answers or preconceived solutions. Each reader interprets and experiences the verses uniquely, finding in them reflections of their own circles of hell and discovering the escape routes that resonate with their own inner truth. It is a subjective and personal journey, where words become guides in the labyrinth of human existence.

Thus, poetry reveals itself as an invaluable tool for the exploration of the soul and the search for redemption. Through its verses, we find the freedom to confront our deepest fears and the hope of finding light amidst the darkness. In a world where truth is elusive and the path to salvation is uncertain, poetry stands as a beacon of hope and a refuge for the wandering soul.

The poetry in this collection delves into a mysterious world where words become spells, where everyday curses are the bread of every day. With a reminiscent touch of ancient Gypsy and Egyptian formulas, and even a hint of African wisdom, these compositions take us through a dark yet fascinating journey. Perhaps the most notable aspect of this work is its ability to transform the mundane into something magical and enigmatic, revealing the hidden beauty in the ordinary. An intriguing collection that challenges traditional poetic conventions and invites us to explore the mysteries of the universe through its enchanted verses, at least, that's what I intend for it to be now before your eyes.

The impossibility of generalizing about hells lies in the diversity of their manifestations. Some hells immerse their damned in water, drowning them in endless aquatic torment. Others suffocate and constrict the lungs, depriving those who inhabit them of air and freedom. Additionally, there are those where the total absence of feelings is the condemnation, where emotion becomes an unattainable luxury. Although their forms vary, they all share a common denominator: a vast and desolate realm of pain and misery, where hope seems like a distant echo and redemption an unattainable dream.

In this book, both public and private hells are explored, offering a comprehensive look at the various forms of human suffering. Its ability to encompass this variety is a reason for gratitude, as by reading it, we can find solace in the idea that we are not alone in our individual struggles. By discovering that others share our torments, we can feel a glimmer of redemption, finding a sense of connection and understanding amidst desolation.

With each verse, Enrique García Guasco challenges expectations, inviting deep reflection on the very nature of poetry and the meaning of human existence.

This anthology offers a careful selection of Enrique García Guasco's scattered poems, spanning a creative period from the year 2020 to 2024. Note, as a sort of prologue that serves as an introduction:

In the pages of this poetry book, we immerse ourselves in a universe where the sweetness of death intertwines with the inevitable reality of oblivion. Each verse, meticulously woven, captures the ephemeral essence of human existence and accompanies it with the eternal companion, death. Through the poet's pen, life is presented as a delicate flower that blooms in spring, with death as the wind that gently carries away its fragrance and beauty.

The poetic narrative becomes an introspective journey, exploring the duality of life and death as a harmonious dance. The reader is enveloped in the cadence of a song that resonates in the air, touching hearts with the undeniable truth of mortality. The story of human existence is told between the lines, passed down from generation to generation as an ephemeral legacy.

Poetry, in its purest form, becomes the tool that unravels the mysteries of life and death. Each word is like a petal falling from the flower, leaving a mark in memory before facing the inevitable blank page of death. In this play between light and shadow, between hope and reality, poetry reveals the intrinsic truth of our existence: a unique dance, a fleeting masterpiece.

Thus, this book invites the reader to reflect on the sweetness of death and the certainty of oblivion that awaits all individuals of the human race. Through poetry, we immerse ourselves in a journey that celebrates the ephemeral beauty of life and confronts us with the immutable reality of our shared destiny.

In terra 'n sò profond, 'na gròssa ròa scota,

Un'èpica danza di giustìssia, catène càude,

    Versi imperfetti risuònan fra l'ària,

Torre di iniquità, vacillà e càje.

    Ombre stese da mani ingiuste,

    'Na supplica solenne per fraternità,

La ròa che trema, 'na stance giusta,

Mentre il grano dell'unione è seminato in verità.

    Sonetti narran storie, forma epica,

Nuova era sorge, l'iniquità sconfitta e dissipata.

In the bowels of the earth, a rumble arises,

An epic dance of justice, broken chains,

Imperfect verses resonate in the air,

The towers of iniquity waver and fall.

    Shadows cast by unjust hands,

    A solemn plea for fraternity,

The rumble grows, a righteous stance,

As the wheat of union in truth is sown.

Sonnets tell stories, epic in form,

Each line a battle against the darkness,

    In Piedmontese whispers, hearts transform,

Lyrical echoes of Eliot, eternal and pure.

The rumble intensifies, a seismic power,

    Destruction of violence, sacred vow,

Through imperfect verses, truth takes flight,

A new era arises, iniquity defeated and dispersed.
