    Foreword

I am honored to introduce this remarkable book, a testament to the power of prayer, understanding, support, and hope.  Each chapter will uplift and inspire you to reach new heights.

The author, Vickie Callair truly exemplifies the PUSH mantra. Throughout our twenty plus year friendship, I have watched her walk into her purpose while encouraging others to do the same. Her drive and work ethic are unmatched, yet it is her desire to help others succeed is most admirable. Her patient demeanor, yet powerful drive commands attention. When Vickie speaks, you’re drawn in to listen.

Vickie is very knowledgeable, arguably one of the smartest people that I know. As you read her resume or biography, her credentials are quite impressive. It’s a testament to her being a lifelong learner. Even if she doesn’t know something initially, she will research and self-educate in a short window of time to ensure she has a working knowledge that she can articulate to others.

Sometimes I quietly wonder, How does she do it all? Over the years, she’s worn many hats from mother, instructor, business owner, project manager, board member and countless others.

Her most important role as mom is a full time position. With her unwavering love for her children, she prioritizes their well being, actively supports their countless extra-curricular activities while juggling her professional goals. While being an incredibly busy career mom, her number one priority is her family. She’s built a very successful business and continues to reach milestones all while giving back to her community. I am extremely excited to see her add New York Times bestselling author to her many titles.

Several years ago, I found myself disappointed, discouraged and feeling defeated. I had just failed the Project Management Professional Certification exam. Vickie swooped in and helped me to remove the negative emotions that were holding me back and to navigate a game plan to successfully pass the exam. She provided countless hours of coaching, mentoring and study aids to help me prepare.  Four weeks later, I passed the exam on my second try. I attribute my success to the PUSH provided by Vickie.

As I transitioned my career from corporate to full time entrepreneurship, one of my biggest cheerleaders, supporters and advisors was Vickie Callair. As you may imagine, this transition is not easy. Vickie openly shared with highs, the lows, lessons, and experiences to help cultivate a solid foundation for my business.

There are so many days that you question your purpose, your why, and if it’s easier to just stay in your comfort zone and give up when the going gets tough. Vickie taught me that in those  moments that we have to push through to reach our goals and next level of success. I am blessed to have her as a trusted mentor, accountability partner, and sister-friend.

This book is a reminder of the resilience that we truly possess if we search within ourselves. Throughout the chapters, the author outlines relatable application points to keep you engaged and motivated. You can win, you can succeed, and your story doesn’t end with a no or one bad day. Knowing that if we take that leap of faith to continue on, will only propel your growth and progress.

I encourage you to immerse yourself in this book with an open mind and spirit. Remember your why and use that as your motivation to push forward to greater heights.

    With admiration,

    Tisha Lowe

    Introduction

OMG!!! It is 5am already. But that’s okay… because I thank God for His grace and mercy; for waking me up and giving me the opportunity to be a better Vickie TODAY. Although I am thankful, this is the third time I’ve hit the snooze button on my blaring alarm. What is going on with me? I slept like a baby, despite waking up every 2 hours to use the bathroom. I really need to leave the coffee alone….Nah, I love my coffee and besides I must have a little guilty pleasure.

I have committed to drinking only one cup of coffee per day. However, some days I renege on my resolution (whether it is a new year’s resolution or me starting over with working on my short-term goals…again). I fall back into my comfort zone of sipping coffee through a straw (yes, I use a straw) because it is something that I feel like I need to help me get through the day. Notice the key words, feel like I need

Although it is a blessing to work from home because of the flexibility and multiple benefits working remotely provides, I can have a hectic day from time to time. The helter-skelter days will require me to sip on a good ole cup of joe. When the stress builds up, competing tasks and double-booked meetings invade my time and my mental clarity, I can’t help myself and partake in the coffee to help me knock this stuff out. Divide and conquer! Let’s go!

    ***

Back to this annoying alarm on my phone, I should really get up and get ahead of the game….
