    Dedication

This book is dedicated to Tiffany, who gave me the best reinvention of my life... that of Mom.

    Acknowledgements

This book exists because of the support, skills and encouragement of many different people.

I want to thank Judy Langford who was the first reader on the very first pages of I Want a NEW CAREER... Now, What Do I Do? Her encouragement continued throughout the process—and trust me, I am the type of writer who needs encouragement.

Next on the scene was Kate Sullivan from WordSmitten Media. Her expertise in the field of media was pivotal in making the Snapshots a part of the book. The book is so much richer with the sharing of inspirational stories of people of have lived their own career transition and now have the stories to tell about it. Kate led me to Adrienne Lewin who collaborated on the interviews for the Snapshot stories. Thank you both for making this wonderful part of the book possible.

Ed Woltil has worked on this book before it was a book. He takes my ideas and graphically represents them and cleans them up! His work has moved from the initial Reinvention Retreat materials to an informational product to this book. I am very grateful to his wife for telling me when I called to hire their college age daughter, Evie, to do some graphic work that she thought it was really Ed I wanted. She said he was good at it. I certainly agree, but he is also great at the art of communication and that has been a big help.

Sometimes the first part of a book comes easier than pulling the last of it together and polishing the work. I will forever be grateful to Gail Ramsdell for all of her help at that pivotal part of the writing process. She brings out the best in anyone and any work she is around! I look forward to continuing to watch what Gail does in the future.

I would also like to thank Gail Woodard of Dudley Court Press for her guidance and wisdom.

Cheerleading is certainly appreciated during the writing process. A couple of my cheerleaders early on were Sue Allen and Nell Chapman. Thanks for the ongoing encouragement in my work. You may not have had your cheerleading outfits on, but you certainly had great cheers.

Now it is your turn. A big acknowledgement goes out to all of you who are reading this book for stepping out there to find your calling. The world is waiting for you to do just that!

I also want to thank the following people for generously sharing their stories and advice...
